Nearly five decades after Dhirubhai Ambani revolutionised India’s stock market by taking Reliance public in 1977, his son Mukesh Ambani is preparing to make history once again. This time, through Jio Platforms, which is expected to launch India’s largest-ever initial public offering (IPO) on October 21, 2026, targeting a staggering valuation of $106 billion (approximately ₹10.3 lakh crore).

The journey began in November 1977, when Dhirubhai Ambani opened Reliance Textile Industries to public investors. At a time when stock market participation was largely limited to wealthy individuals and institutions, he encouraged ordinary Indians to become shareholders. The offering was subscribed more than seven times, helping establish what became known as India’s equity investment culture.

Now, 49 years later, Mukesh Ambani is taking that legacy into the digital era. According to Reuters, Jio Platforms is targeting a share price between ₹1,065 and ₹1,119, with the IPO potentially raising approximately ₹30,200 crore. If successful, it would surpass Hyundai Motor India’s ₹27,859 crore IPO in 2024 to become the biggest public issue in Indian history.

The public subscription is expected to run from October 21 to October 23, with a possible stock market debut on October 28. Investor enthusiasm is already significant, with Bloomberg reporting more than $20 billion in bids from institutional investors ahead of the proposed offering. The dates and final terms remain subject to confirmation.

The significance extends beyond the numbers. Dhirubhai built Reliance around textiles, manufacturing and the ambition of making ordinary Indians part of the country’s corporate growth. Mukesh expanded that empire into energy, retail and telecommunications, with Jio transforming India’s internet landscape through affordable mobile data.

In June, Mukesh Ambani described Jio’s proposed listing as a deeply emotional milestone and revealed that the next generation, Isha, Akash and Anant Ambani, would lead the IPO process and future value-creation opportunities.

Ještě před pár měsíci by mě ani nenapadlo, kde dneska budu stát a co všechno budu mít možnost zažít.

Sport je součástí mého života odmala. Dlouhé roky jsem ho zažívala z pozice sportovce a vždycky jsem doufala, že u něj jednou budu moct zůstat i z té druhé strany. A teď mám možnost poznávat úplně nový svět, učit se od skvělých lidí a být součástí něčeho, co mě neskutečně baví.

Jsem vděčná, nadšená, trochu vyřízená 😆, ale hlavně šťastná. Obrovské díky klukům a celému týmu Nova Sport za důvěru, trpělivost, všechny cenné rady a hlavně za prostor se učit, zlepšovat a postupně si plnit sny. Moc si toho vážím. ❤️

Tenhle post možná není ten nejvíc aesthetic, ale zato je asi jeden z nejupřímnějších. A myslím, že žádná slova by nedokázala popsat moje pocity tak dobře jako právě tyhle fotky.

Pár dní, na které jen tak nezapomenu. Děkuju za všechno a už teď se těším na to, co nás společně čeká dál. 🏁❤️
