2 hours agoJust a shoutout!! Sally I’ve followed you since 2021 when I discovered your badwater story. I have followed you since and am always in awe of your story, your perseverance and your grit. I recently did my first 50 mile run in Steamboat Colorado! It rained for 14 hours but it was an amazing experience. Just kept choosing strong—thank you for your positivity and smiles and laughs along the way.
20 hours agoI've got my 3rd 100 race No Business next Friday Oct 23rd and the night time during the race is the worst for me. How do you get through that difficult time during the race. Thank you and have a wonderful day!
20 hours agoHow do you build genuine self-belief when your ambition is bigger than your confidence? I have done two 50k’s and I’m building toward a 100k. Some days I feel ready to tackle it, and other days I feel like a crazy person for thinking I can.
20 hours agoHow to stay consistent during an injury (stress fracture)? What kinds of strength work is safe when you have a stress fracture (I know you’re not an MD but from experience figured I would ask!). And how to safely return to running?
20 hours agoHow do you know if you’re doing enough when training for your first 200 miler? I have been running ultras for 12 years and have my first 200 in March. I am an avid strength trainer and live in the mountains similar to where my race will be. But how do I balance doing too much vs too little?
a day agoHey Sally! How do you dig yourself out of a physical and mental hole. I ran a hundred miler in Jan 2025 and I feel like I haven’t been able to physically regain fitness, nor the mental motivation to do so since then. I’ve tried a long break, I’ve tried ramping back up slowly and having a goal to train for. I’ve tried just keeping it light and social. But I just keep stopping and can’t get back to a regular running routine and failing at any training plan I attempt to follow. Any tips are greatly appreciated!
a day agoI am 33 and just completed my first trail marathon. I’ve also had two meniscus surgeries on the same knee. As a fellow athlete who has come back from knee surgery, how do you manage the stress and fear of knee pain? After being fully recovered does your knee ever swell after a long endurance effort and what are your favorite ways to strengthen your knee and what are your favorite recovery methods?
