After reading and really enjoying The Pumpkin Spice Café, I couldn’t wait to head back to Dream Harbor!
I loved the idea of Hazel discovering secret messages hidden in books and teaming up with Noah to follow the clues around town! Their little adventures were cute, and can we talk about how Noah had it BAD for Hazel?! 😍 You know I love a good he falls first romance! I also loved seeing the rest of the Dream Harbor crew again because they seriously remind me of the gang from Friends!!
BUT let’s talk about the spice… 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I don’t normally mind a little spice here and there, but I felt like 2/3 of this book was pure spice and I found myself wanting more actual STORY! 😂 If you love a super spicy romance, this might be right up your alley, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
I also went into this expecting a fall read because of the cover, but most of the story actually takes place during the summer, with just a touch of fall at the end! Had I known that, I probably would’ve saved this one for my summer TBR instead.
Thankfully, we avoided an annoying third-act breakup and got a cute little miscommunication instead, which I appreciated! Overall, this was a fun trip back to Dream Harbor, but I didn’t love it nearly as much as The Pumpkin Spice Café. A cute read overall!
