Sunday at the Hartford Public Library, celebrating Queen Marie of Romania — Regina Maria — through books, art, cuisine, and music. 👑🇷🇴 Save December 1st for the next Romanian National Day celebration 🎊

It was a beautiful afternoon of history, books, music, images, cuisine, diplomacy, and community — a little piece of Romania in the heart of Hartford.

With gratitude to Her Excellency Simona Florea, Consul General of Romania in New York; Dana Bucin, Honorary Consul of Romania to Connecticut; Hartford Public Library leadership; and Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam. Beautiful music by Mirela Panaitisor and Iuliana Roaota, and cultural contributions from Nora Vasilescu, Cristian Gogu, Ioana Barac, and Ileana Dumitriu.

And the table was just as special: food by A Villa Louisa, a superb cake from Alina’s Cakes and Cookies, Romanian-Hungarian treats from Tibor and Laura Moldovan, and the printed panels by Victor Dorobantu.

Some stories don’t fade. They just wait for the next generation to hear them. ✨
