Latest accountability rig play post!! First attempt today & I got further than I have before🤩🤩🤩🤩 . Managed more single arm swings today too! Did it a few more times just to check it wasn't a fluke!. I find it hard to make sure my feet don't hit the floor, but progress is progress . Next mission... to get to the nunchuck. Then, maybe I'll grow a pair of balls and enter a race that is more technical than spartan @coach_wendyorchard #ocrtraining #ocrracing #obstaclecourseracing #britishobstaclesports #topholds by @pips.ocr.adventures
@team_wildfire_ocr fun sprint. Always a highlight and the weekend - especially when you hit the spear! #Spartanrace #ocr #obstaclecourseracing #spartanraceuk #britishobstaclesports by @pips.ocr.adventures
London South East - Super 🔵⁣ ⁣ The final series race of the year.⁣ ⁣ If I was being a pessimist I could be pissed that I gassed out at the end, after my burpees, which meant I failed the tilting ladders as I couldn't breathe and got lightheaded. ⁣ Nearly vommed before the low rig & missed a podium by less than a min. (Massive kudos @mccrea_em for her podium after an ultra- you're incredible!!)⁣ ⁣ BUT - I genuinely LOVED this race - until the burpees, It was the best I have felt all year having felt awful in all my other races.⁣ I felt so good on course & like I had my mojo back! So I was buzzing.⁣ My knee gave me no issues too!⁣ ⁣ Loved my ongoing battle with @climbhigh22 igh22 & chuffed to get the low rig .⁣ ⁣ I also got my redemption in the open sprint by hitting my spear & completing the tilting ladders.⁣ ⁣ The positives far outweigh the things that went wrong & these are easily fixed by working harder & getting better - I'm excited to see what @coach_wendyorchard has in store for me.⁣ ⁣ 4th AG.⁣ 4th for the AG National Series. ⁣ ⁣ 4 national series races:⁣ Three 4ths⁣ One 5th.. improving on last years placing.⁣🤩 ⁣ At least Im consistent & Maybe next year I can stop being the bridesmaid🤣🤣 Congrats to my awesome teamies @team_wildfire_ocr for your podiums and achievements ! #spartanrace #ocr #britishobstaclesports #ukocr by @pips.ocr.adventures
Enjoy all the fails of my Latest accountability / faffing / winging it post......(with a win at the end) Keeping the holds in the same order as last time... so much getting in my own head and overthinking. I need to try and relax and just go with it, eventually it will come together. With less faffing and winging it. Also... I spy a one hand swing on the Nana! 🍌 #ocr #britishobstaclesports #spartanrace #ocrtraining #ocruk by @pips.ocr.adventures
The latest video of me faffing! Posting my sub standard tekkers here for accountability for myself. I have not been consistent enough and I do not want to be posting another video like this in 6 months time like this - I want to post one of me making this look much easier! I'm doing more strength & grip work. And i'm aiming for rig play once a week.. At worst, every two weeks. Any other tips gratefully received!! #ocr #obstaclecourseracing #ocrtraining #britishobstaclesports by @pips.ocr.adventures
SPARTAN SOUTH WEST⁣ NATIONAL SERIES BEAST.⁣ ⁣ It was one of those days 🫣⁣ ⁣ On paper, not too bad 5/11 in my AG. ⁣ ⁣ However, within the first 5km my mindset was shot - the beast is not my distance. ⁣ ⁣ For various reasons over last month life has been beyond busy so training has been less than optimal & perimenopause was throwing more issues into the mix.⁣ ⁣ The absolutely wonderful human that is @vicky.wheelhouse gave my head a massive wobble & encouraged me to suck it up and we continued on together. ⁣ ⁣ Around mile 10, my knee was causing me issues. And by the end I pretty much hobbled to finished! Which lost me a place or 2. My dodgy knee meant I couldn't do the fun Sprint with the ⁣@team_wildfire_ocr gang Chuffed to get ape hanger again ⁣ And I hit my spear🎯🥳⁣ ⁣ Now to get this knee sorted before Pippingford 🤞⁣ #ocr #ocruk #spartanrace #spartansouthwest #spartanraceuk britishobstaclesports⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ by @pips.ocr.adventures
Back to it, exploring more routes after a fantastic family hols in Menorca I had planned to do at least 2 little runs, I took my resistance bands for a couple of workouts - it is race season after all.......😬 ...I managed one run 😆. Before the hols I felt bloody exhausted, we had moved house and my body just felt like it wasn't cooperating. So we changed plan and prioritised sleep. On the whole I got 8-9 hours of sleep a night... Mostly unbroken, which for me, is unheard of & it felt so needed! 8 miles in the bag this morning, very stop start as I'm still finding my way around. Felt like I was sweating out holiday Margaritas, Cava and Pomadas😂 #running #ocr 9#ocrtraining #spartantraining by @pips.ocr.adventures
Midlands Super 🔵 Open jolly with these wonderful bunch of humans -@team_wildfire_ocr Main wins! Olympus✅️ Ape Hanger ✅️ 3/4 of the way across Twister Super pleased with these as I've been working hard to regain my strength. Great to see some of the gang podium and achieve cool things this weekend! #spartanraceuk #britishobstaclesports #spartanmidlands #ocr #ocruk by @pips.ocr.adventures
Spartan Midlands.⁣ ⁣ National Series Race 2 - Sprint🔴 ⁣ ⁣ It was a hot one! I'd planned try and pace myself from the beginning & try & keep moving, no walking between obstacles ⁣ ⁣ It was all going well until about 1.5km from the end, peri-meno & the heat did me dirty & I felt so sick, fought not to see my breakfast again a few times😂⁣ ⁣ Hit the spear dead centre but there wasn't enough power for it to stick...so 30 burpees while keeping nauseous was fun.⁣ ⁣ But, had clean race apart from the spear & came 4th in my AG - finishing 3 mins behind 3rd.... that pesky spear!⁣ ⁣ My third 4th place out of my last 4 Spartans! At least I'm consistent😂⁣ ⁣ Next Up : Badminton Beast⁣ ⁣ #ocr #ocruk #spartanrace #spartanmidlands #spartanraceuk britishobstaclesports⁣ spartannationalseries by @pips.ocr.adventures
The latest edition of me faffing around winging it and seeing what works! Found this little gem of a park, great for an OCR sesh, although the rope is fixed at the bottom, so if makes it a bit tricky! Lots of failing and trying again, and again, and again😬. But trying to remain consistent with my training #ocrtraining #ocr #britishobstaclesports #spartan #spartantraining by @pips.ocr.adventures
Just me again.... All the Faffing...trying to figure things out. Bottom line is....I''m just not yet strong enough to do well on technical rigs. Thanks, shoulder and elbow.😬 Using a band to help me put so I can practice with grips without falling on my backside, seems to be helping. Im persevering, Aiming to build consistency, finding ways to train without undoing progress I have made to rebuild strength. A long way to go, but we keep pushing. #ocr #spartanrace #ocrtraining #gripstrength #strongmum @coachcarrino_ by @pips.ocr.adventures
OCR Euro Champs - Standard course. 45-49 AG⁣ ⁣ My first championships! What a weekend! Super proud to pull on a GB vest!⁣ ⁣ I wasn't quite where I wanted to be for this race, post injury, and I'm still not fully confident in my single arm strength. But, it meant I had zero expectations of myself. The plan was to go out there, try my best and have fun.⁣ ⁣ The course was nothing like I have tried before, and I absolutely loved it.!!! ⁣ I completed obstacles I've never done, got further on rigs than expected and failed a fair few!⁣ ⁣ The final gauntlet was tough, and there were a few that I think I could complete when my strength & grip endurance continues to improve.... & I havent just run 13km😆⁣ ⁣ Top rated support from GB team mates, the OCR community is awesome!⁣ ⁣ I've come away feeling so driven to improve my strength and rig tekkers.⁣ ⁣ Bring.it.on.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #ocrwc2026 #britishobstaclesports #ocr #irun #teamgbr obstaclecourseracing @coachcarrino_ by @pips.ocr.adventures
