Nothing says lap of luxury like enjoying your Stephanie Avery fireplace in custom made jumpsuits with the chandelier a dangling!

Much like Stephanie’s (@stephvonawesome) vision for creating the Art on Barton (@artonbarton) project. Her work erupts from the fireplace and spreads like wildfire through the house. The mural rises like a phoenix from the ashes, the literal fireplace ashes, and spreads into the facets of its neighbouring rooms. This piece of work is emblematic of the entire Art on Barton project, which started with a small Unnamed Collective and snowballed into over 40 participating artists within a 5 week time period, and ultimately spread into other facets of the community.

The house stood untouched but very much observed by Stephanie. Then one fine day, a developer’s notice was posted and Stephanie reached out with a dream in mind. Luckily, Green Street Flats (@greenstreetflats) was receptive to the idea and the project began. This project offered the opportunity for artists to contribute to mentorship, knowledge and resource sharing, community building and placemaking. The house will soon be demolished for the developer’s new housing units. From ashes to ashes, from dust to dust.

The 5th Annual ART COMP AWARDS with the one and only @stephvonawesome! In true art adventure day shenanigans, we boarded the party bus arranged by @dmpublic at 401 Richmond and set off on our journey to the @artcompofficial awards at @100kellogg.

The day was full of many delightful surprises, but the best by far was seeing my good friend @adetona_omokanye win first place for the People’s Choice Awards. A well deserved win! Congratulations to Adetona and all the Art Comp Award Winners.

Can’t wait to do it again next year!!!

Get @reshare_app • @workinculture.ca The 2025–2026 BAO x WIC Mentorship Program for Brampton artist entrepreneurs, creative businesses, and arts, culture & heritage organizations has wrapped up for the year on a high note!

Each of the ten mentees came to the program with a specific business or entrepreneurial challenge they wanted to tackle. With guidance from an experienced professional mentor in the arts and culture sector, they worked together on setting goals, building new skills, and taking real steps towards long-term success.

These ten amazing mentees and their mentors built connections and shared knowledge through one-on-one mentorship:

A great big thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to wish Jolene and I a Happy Birthday 🙏🙏🙏
We felt very loved and had a joy filled birth celebration 🥳🥳🥳

For context: I make us marching outfits every year for our matching birthdays. My daughter was born on my 33rd birthday.

This year, my daughter took on the role of designing the outfits for the first time. She chose the pattern and fabrics for a country meets disco vibe. 🩵🩷

It’s everyone’s favourite time of year... where l make matching outfits for my daughter and my matching birthdays.

This year, I double-checked with my daughter that she still wants to do it. She said, “yes, but I’m designing them this year!”
