The response to last week’s post about my perimenopause program has been nuts.

And I get it - that’s exactly why I built this. There’s so much information out there, but it’s often confusing, conflicting, or just not feasible for the lives we’re actually living.

So I’m doing a free webinar on Tuesday August 4 at 4pm ET to talk about what’s happening during this time, what we can do about it, and how to get ahead of both the health piece and the career piece - without taking on another full-time job.

🙊 Confessions of a formerly burnt out business owner…

I still catch myself doing this sometimes!

It’s a lot different now - I call myself out on it as soon as it creeps up, but, man, back in the day…I felt like I was doing something wrong if I was not working.

⚡️ Especially because it was my business And we were in the music industry which doesn’t stop for anyone.

I talk about it a bit n my conversation with Chandani Patel Thompson, lawyer, founder of @clarityprint.co , and host of Rest to Rise a free virtual summit taking place May 19 - 22, specifically created for professionals in high-pressure roles.

“Intentional breaks” can look like so many things!

My personal lists include a combination of things that energize or ground me. Or things that help me focus or enhance my creativity.

Here are just a few:

* Various breathwork techniques depending on the situation
* My favorite quick mindfulness/focusing exercises and NSDR
* Movement/stretching/walking/shaking my body out
* Getting outside
* Heat or cold
* Eating a high-protein meal or snack
* Jin shin jyutsu

So many more!

⚡️ The “secret” is knowing what works (specifically for us, in specific situations) and that comes from listening and paying attention to ourselves and where we might be “leaking” energy, where we might get activated, etc.

1: Recognize what you need in various situations
2: Identify a few ways to get it
3: Make a list of stuff that works for you in different situations

📞 Hit me up if you’re curious what could work for you.

♥️ And join me for Rest2Rise, a free virtual summit (May 19–22) where I’ll be speaking about strategic rest and sharing some of my favorite tools.

Heading back to Music Biz in Atlanta next month and I’m very excited about our panel: “The Long Run: How to Build a 360° Well-Being Strategy Into Your Business Plan”

Nyeesha Williams, Rachael Bronstein, and Chantelle St.Clair and I will be reframing well-being as a strategic advantage (not a perk, a nice-to-have, or an afterthought) and bringing together three essential but often disconnected pillars of sustainability: physical health, mental health and financial health. Because no strategy, budget, or growth model works for very long if the human(s) behind it are running on empty.

♥️ Join us on Thur May 14 at 12:05p

🧘 I’ll also have the honor of opening @cacmusicgroup’s Roots & Resonance program with a welcome meditation and grounding exercise at 9am on Tues May 12 in the Wilton room (in the conference hotel - l!nk in bio to grab your spot.

Let me know if you’ll be there!

YES you can be putting your creative work and the business your building out into the world - even when the world is on fire.

Do it BECAUSE the world is on fire.

We need creativity, innovation, inspiration, beauty, joy, love, ease, support - all of it.

Keep going, keep creativity, keep talking about it, and keep taking care of yourselves so you can keep on keepin on

My word for the year is “curiosity.”

It’s something I talk about all the time with clients, encouraging them to get curious about things vs assuming we know what’s what.

It’s hard. It’s something I still practice a lot.

So much good can come out of getting curious - both with ourselves and with others.

So I’ll be focusing my attention on that this year.

What’s your word for 2026?

Just one tiny (yet not always simple) way you can keep that new nervous system smell, long after you’ve retuned from a long break from real life and work.

You may be feeling the overwhelm, the stress, the time crunches, etc. already creeping in.

But you can break the burnout cycle by practicing this.

Over time, as you slow down in little spots, wherever you can, you’ll start to train your nervous system to downregulate more easily.

When you incorporate breathing and other practices, it helps even more.

Let me know if you give it a try.

I know today might feel like a tough one for so many people!

😵 The end of the year can hit differently when you work for yourself - whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been at it for a while. Whether you’re on your own or you have a team.

I created a Q1 coaching intensive for founders + freelancers who could use a bit of an anchor.

4 private 1:1 coaching sessions focused on:
⚡️Clarifying priorities
⚡️Untangling decisions that feel heavy or muddy
⚡️Strengthening how you manage your energy, focus, and leadership
⚡️Creating a doable, realistic plan for the year ahead

This is the intersection of performance and wellbeing - because the work and the human behind it aren’t separate.
