A short conversation with the artist @sumayc .

This year, @1000tinyartworks will be held from 8-12 October at Hin Bus Depot. It is an initiative aimed at giving all local artists an equal platform and voice, in which each artist will contribute 10 pieces of artworks, sized at 10cmx 10cm.

As a supporter of the event, Aayu will be acquiring some artworks to be displayed at some of our guesthouses across George Town. Can you guess the artists behind those artworks?

OH! Together-Gather in the Kalendar turned heads (and hearts) at PARC with its braille-printed, origami-folded installation - inviting everyone into a quiet, inclusive conversation. Winner of the YSDAF 2025 Pitch Start grant, this beautiful piece reimagines the Chinese calendar through the senses.

So proud of my dear friend @sumayc @otherhalfstudio and thrilled to be part of her exhibit. I love how her work tells a story, seamlessly blending her signature play of light and shadow with elements of Malaysian culture and her commitment to material sustainability.
