“I AM”- SOMEBODY!
When Dr. Reverend Jesse L. Jackson Sr. & I sat in the studio 11yrs ago to originally record this song he dropped 💎👑 Jewels on me- when asked about passing of Torches 🔥🗽- He explained “Power isn’t given, Power Begins with taking back our individual autonomy and extends out” When asked how is Justice taken - He gave me 3 Rhyming Words “ Agitate/ Litigate/ Legislate” We have Giants that walk amongst us- it’s on us to sit at their feet 👣 & Learn. Our Elder has become our Ancestor and now it’s on us to Love & Level Up! Thanks 🙏🏿 & Luv to the collaborators of “I Am” @common @dlylez @officialtonep (producer exordinaire) and @rainbowpush for being Chicago’s strategy building, collaboration center, refuge and celebration Headquarters. Everyone get your @rainbowpush membership today! 🎤📣 @mywhyagency & @emerald_jane for getting the word out! My Deep ppreciation for ALL THE PEOPLE who made Dr. Donda West Way possible, safe and successful.
History is being shaped by those willing to carry the torch of our ancestry.
On 9/22/26, we gathered in South Shore to celebrate a Village Mother — an educator who poured into the human condition and possibility of Black boys and young people before the world knew the impact her son would have.

Thank you @garrardmcclendon ,Ald. @mitchell7thward, @cookcountyclerk Monica Gordon, the 003rd District @chicagopolicedepartment, @drcierawhitaker_ and every public servant and neighbor who put real work into making this happen.

Your servant leadership helped ensure Dr. Donda West’s name, work and legacy will live on in the community she called home.
