I am pleased to invite you to 𝗕𝗨𝗚𝗦! 𝙒𝙚’𝙧𝙚 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙, a group print exhibition bringing together the works of 15 visual artists from across India.

The exhibition uses the often-overlooked insect world as a kaleidoscopic lens through which we explore subjects including gender, identity, agency, love and social structures. Across the works, insects become both inspiration and metaphor, opening up different ways of thinking about our relationships with one another and the environments we inhabit.

Each artist has created an exclusive new work for the exhibition, unveiled publicly for the first time. The works interpret the theme through each artist’s own visual language and practice.

𝗕𝗨𝗚𝗦! 𝙒𝙚’𝙧𝙚 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 will feature 15 original works, each available as a limited-edition of 20, signed and numbered prints.

𝗕𝗨𝗚𝗦! 𝙒𝙚’𝙧𝙚 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 is on view till 11th Oct!! 🪲

There is an anthropological curiosity to the show. We observe other species, assign meaning to their behaviour and find patterns that remind us of ourselves.

What’s exciting about the accessibility of @shacocohq is that it’s a space where art collectors, gallery regulars, neighbourhood families and anyone passing through the lanes of Shahpur Jat can experience the show together.

The show is on view daily, from 3rd - 11th October, 10am to 7pm at Shacoco in Shahpurjat, New Delhi.

6 Months, 6 Shows
ZOO 5 was the first show. For The Love Of Comics was the second show. Ashwitha curated comics by authors from around the country. It was also a success. We borrowed table for showcasing the books. They got their shelves to put more books. Ashish Das exhibited the third show. He is nearing sixty, but he has the enthusiasm of a teenager. He sold his artwork. He hadn’t painted in years. Now he is painting more. Abhishek Vidyarthi did the fourth show. He has a love and hate relationship with the city. His work showcased the river, the forests, farmhouses and the horse. Guests loved and grabbed his work. Leesha’s pop up was our fifth show. She was Shack’s first customer in 2022. Our 6th show is on.

𝗕𝗨𝗚𝗦! 𝙒𝙚’𝙧𝙚 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 took the insect world as a point of inspiration. Praying mantises, dung beetles, moths and other oddly familiar creatures became a way into thinking about the many ways we exist alongside one another.

We treated the gallery as a space of possibility. The works spilled onto the floor, walls, sound and taste, even your sense of being perceived, all through a series of interventions around the body of work.

Apart from looking at the art, your feet touched grass, and when you looked up at the ceiling, you found clouds in the sky, making you fully present in the gallery viewing experience.

The Fresnel and Bug Eye lenses in the exhibition played with this act of looking. You brought them closer, changed the scale and saw how the creatures shifted. The closer you looked, the more strangely familiar they became!

A neighbourhood spot in the truest sense. We went for coffee and a slow chat with their witty co-founder Abhishek. We ended up returning for an ear-numbing gig.

My first show, and such a sweet little space to have it in.

‘Unfolding’ opened on Tuesday at @shacocohq !! And we have just 2 days left before it closes.

The show runs till this Sunday and is open from 10am to 7pm. Please visit if you’re around, I eagerly wait to see some of you. 🫶

Super happy with how the exhibition turned out. A big thank you to @raiabhisheka , for believing that art should be accessible to everyone, and should not be confined to fancy galleries and intimidating spaces, and for believing in bootstrappers and giving them a space to start
And to @varleen_05 , for curating the show and bringing everything together so beautifully, while somehow managing to do it all alongside her job and through being unwell. Really grateful 🤍

And of course, to everyone who has visited so far, spent time with the work, shared a kind word, or simply stopped by

This show is the result of our open call looking for hesitant artists. What unfolded (pun intended) was a relearning of the basics: that art responds to the world.

I’M DOING AN EXHIBITION!!!!

‘this too is home’ is an exploration of how we build home, what the hell that word even means, why we stay, why anyone would want to come back, and how birds can serve as a barometer for a relationship with a city. The show will be on at Shacoco from the 18th to the 21st of June! Drop in, hang out and see work I’ve been sitting on for quite some time now. by @shacocohq
