Crispy cantarelli 36-month parmigiano reggiano is delicately rolled into a cigar and filled with whipped gorgonzola dolce mousse, brushed with whisky-infused mānuka honey and topped with prelibato white balsamic caviar, do canapés get any better? by @simon_gault

This is a salad for people who’d rather be eating steak.

Vietnamese beef noodle salad. BBQ or frying pan, either works.

I hadn't been to Lokanta for ages, so I took a few friends along who'd never been before. And boy, was I glad I did!

Zeki and Claire are fantastic hosts, and they've got a new menu. What a meal we had!

We tried loads of dishes, and I could go on about every one of them, but just have a look at the photos and videos. The lamb neck in particular was absolutely outstanding. I could have happily ordered another one!

If you haven't been to Lokanta, you've got to go. I really mean that. And when you walk in, make sure you tell Zeki and Claire that Simon sent you.

Lokanta, 137A Richmond Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland.

I won't be leaving it so long next time! #aucklandeats by @simon_gault

🥩 Here's a little steak tip worth knowing!

Flat iron is one of my all-time favourite cuts of beef. It's tender as, packed with flavour and brilliant on the BBQ.

But there are a few simple things worth knowing to get the best out of it.

I've cooked thousands of steaks over the years, and these are the little things that make all the difference.

Next time you're at the butcher, grab yourself a flat iron and give it a go. I reckon you'll be impressed!

Auckland's newest best-kept secret!

It's only just opened, and I've already got a feeling this place is going to be a winner.

I'm not telling you what it is just yet. You'll have to come along and find out!

I thought I was covered. Southern Cross would pay for standard surgery, but not the Mohs surgery my specialist recommended for the cancer on my cheek.

I’m not saying cancel your insurance.

Ask what can change before you need it.

Share this with your family or workmates.

There’s a cut of steak that I reckon gets overlooked far too often. Your Butcher will know the one.

Leftover roast pumpkin? Don’t waste it.

Blend the pumpkin until smooth, then add roughly the same amount of mascarpone, Mexican seasoning and a pinch of salt.

Mix it up, grab your favourite crackers and get stuck in.

Mexican pumpkin dip. Boom, done.
