NOS TUNA
[Tuna Night]

From Cornish waters to the MOR kitchen, an evening dedicated to bluefin tuna and the people behind it.

On Friday 30 October, we welcome Kieran Burkhill, Cornish fisherman aboard the Stargazy, for a closer look at this extraordinary fish and its remarkable return to UK waters.

Throughout the evening, Kieran will share stories from life aboard the Stargazy, the realities of Cornish fishing and the return of bluefin tuna to our waters.

Also joining MOR for Tuna Night is fine artist Henrietta Graham, whose career spans over 30 years painting internationally celebrated chefs and two decades working alongside the fishing community of Newlyn, Cornwall.

Her work has received major awards at the Royal Society of Marine Artists, where she also exhibits, and nine monumental reproductions of her paintings form a permanent installation at Newlyn Fish Market, one of Britain’s foremost fishing ports.

Henrietta’s artwork will be exhibited at MOR throughout the evening, where she will be sketching the tuna and meeting guests, bringing together two defining subjects of her work in a celebration of provenance, craftsmanship and the journey from sea to table.

5 Course Menu

Each guest will leave with a MOR goody bag, including a printed menu and a portion of Cornish bluefin tuna to enjoy at home.

Friday 30 October | £150 per person

Guests are welcome to arrive from 6pm, with dinner beginning at 6.30pm. @one_mor_bar will be open for pre-dinner drinks.

DRE DHORN
[By hand]

From the earth to MOR.

We had a lovely time with our friend Nynke from @nyn.ceramics in her studio, watching her work and chatting about what first drew her to ceramics and the landscape that inspires her.

Working with found natural clays and organic shapes, her pieces reflect a sense of place and belonging. Dotted around MOR, they help shape the character of the room, bringing natural textures and organic forms into the design.

It was a privilege to see her process first-hand. Knowing the care that goes into each piece makes having them here that bit more special.

Some of Covent Garden’s most iconic stories begin after the curtain falls, and few places have been part of them quite like J Sheekey.

For this instalment of our Cellar Community series, we visited one of London’s most celebrated seafood restaurants, tucked away in St Martin’s Court, right in the heart of Theatreland.

🎭🦪 Since opening its doors in 1896, J Sheekey has been serving up post-theatre suppers to generations of actors, writers and audiences.

The story began when Josef Sheekey was granted permission to serve fish and shellfish to Lord Salisbury’s post-theatre parties. More than a century later, that connection to the stage remains at the heart of the restaurant.

From Dame Judi Dench and Sir Derek Jacobi to generations of West End stars, countless famous faces have passed through its doors.

The walls, lined with photographs of theatrical greats, tell their own story of the people who have made J Sheekey a fixture of London’s cultural scene.

🍷 With its iconic red frontage, timeless interiors and legendary seafood, it’s a place where opening night celebrations, post-show conversations and long-standing traditions come together around the table.

In a neighbourhood that has seen countless performances take their final bow, J Sheekey has remained a constant, bringing people together long after the applause has faded.

Come with us to discover one of Covent Garden’s true classics, where the stories are just as memorable as the seafood ✨

Harvest in Champagne.

Every story begins somewhere. For our guests, it begins with a glass of Henri Giraud Esprit.

At the end of September, members of our team travelled to Aÿ with our friends at @newgenwines to visit our house champagne partner, @champagnehenrigiraud, and discover the story behind that first glass.

Henri Giraud’s approach brings together generations of family knowledge, the vineyards of Aÿ and carefully selected oak from the Argonne forest. That connection between people, place and craft is something we recognise in our own approach at Story.

Spending time with the team gave us a deeper appreciation of their work, before sitting down to their table experience, where exceptional produce was paired with champagnes from across the range.

Thank you to Henri Giraud and New Generation Wines for such a generous welcome, and for giving our team a story to bring back to the restaurant.
