.
A bespoke #jacqtourstaiwan tour for our first-ever group from the UK - the Heavy Metal Truants, inner-circle cycling mates & fellow charity fundraisers of Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood.
.
I was briefed to expect high-spirited chaos & “complete lack of common sense” when on the bike from an eclectic bunch of highly successful people.
.
Everything was true except the lack of common sense. Rod & the Truants have been a complete joy to host. Warm, down-to-earth, informal, gracious & fun-loving, from a diverse range of interests, professions & sporting backgrounds with a shared passion for cycling.
.
They have loved Taiwan, loved Jacqtours & we have loved hosting & getting to know each of them. An epic milestone tour made possible with a stirling @jacqtours team well appreciated by all. Here’s to more good vibes!

We’re blown away it’s been five years already since the release of our production of The Pursuit of Vikings, a feature length documentary and concert video directed by Phil Wallis plus a coffee table book to boot. An amazing heavy metal band and an amazing story.

We've been planning our film viewing for the holidays and were reminded of this curious scene from the ESTEC Open Day. What space-filled movies have you loved this year?

HMCC London Ride 101:Spokethrone

Eventually getting under way, once @bezzard74 had sorted his tubeless issue, an addition of a standard tube by Graham had solved nothing, luckily @nuttidave was packing a latex tube..

A relaxed breakfast at Sanctum on the Green, before heading off again.

A 2nd stop for a bite at @velolife in Twyford, before heading back to Maidenhead for a restorative pint...

Come and join us in 2024...
All our planned rides are up on Strava already...

Christmas is approaching fast and as every year last years X-mas card from the maiden fan club get it's spot on my shelf 🤘🏻😊
-
Currently taking a break from all the Christmas music to listen to the latest Maiden album - Senjutsu (2021).
An album I loved when it was released, and still do!
-
Compared to earlier releases from the guys, this album has a little darker sound imo. Especially the title track, which to me goes up among the heaviest Maiden songs written. Nicko's thundering toms with that riff, excellent!
-
Death of the Celts, The Parchment and Hell on Earth finishes off the album and those three alone are 30 minutes of the record. Hell on Earth have for sure turned out being one of my all time Maiden favs.

Long live the best band of all time, Up the Irons! 🤘🏻🔥

Did a thing yesterday.

100th ride of the @heavymetalcycling club, of which I am beyond proud to call myself a member.

Some of the best people, getting together, riding bikes, being awesome.

About the route. There was a plan to have the circle, but our captain, @alexandermilas, suffered a mechanical just as we'd ended the pentagram and were about to start the circle.

We agreed that we couldn't continue without him, after all, without him we'd not be there.

So we retired to the pub.

Later that night a few of us headed into Camden to have our faces suitably ripped off by @override13 and @karab_band and say goodbye to @floralyd as she buggers off to India for 2 months.

A bloody good day..

After the special opening by @alexandermilas and @smackomatic in Part 3, we transition to the special celebration videos prepared by our followers who specifically want to convey their love and respect for Einar Selvik.

Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate Einar’s birthday in this beautiful way! 💎
