When I was deciding what color direction to go in with my new bedroom, I was inspired by a room I saw in @housebeautiful (second frame) consisting of lavender walls and accents of cobalt blue and red. I loved the serene yet effervescent feeling the purple hue provided.

I had several panels of yellow gold velvet draped from @ikeausa which I used in the basement of my previous home. I really prefer working with what I have, both in fashion and design, money doesn't grow on trees, and quite frankly I enjoy the challenge of working with what I've got in order to create something new.

I had vintage @henredonfurniture circa east nightstand I found at @chinoiserie_squirrel, an old deep teal headboard from @onekingslane and simple white bedding. The light chandelier, I found by way of my vintage dress dealer, @houseoflandor. Reminiscent of glass pipes, let's just be honest, I felt was a cheeky way to keep things from feeling too serious.

I wanted to showcase my mother's @bethleeart painting, a Pawleys Island marsh scene. It came to me unframed and I found one just the perfect size at @habitatcltregion restore for $9.99! I called on my very stylish and talented design pal, @brookewerhane, to weigh her opinion and help me source pillows for the bed. She sourced custom lampshades for my vintage lamps, gifted by Linda Kincheloe at @chinoiserie_squirrel. Vintage mirrors from @houseofnevin flank both nightstands.

I'm sharing a few more inspiration photos with lavender, including my own basement in our last home, à la @dressingroomsinteriorsstudio, in frames 6 and 9. @angiehranowsky is a designer I love who I think masterfully uses purple and lavender in her own design, as shown in frame 4.

Wowza! What a makeover this sweet powder room got!! Swipe over for the before… 😉
I’m not sure what part of this space I love this most….from the custom made “Feathers” wallpaper by artist Amanda Moody @bombshelves , to the hand painted Moroccan “fish scale” sink edged in gold trim, to the custom built vanity to fit the space which was even further customized with the Blue Roman quartzite backsplash designed to mimic the curve of the vanity base, or finally the Vintage Mid-Century lucite loop chandelier….all of it is OH so yummy. Love how this precious space turned out. 🤩🤩

🦄🪑 The incredible, unstoppable morning sunlight which dapples through two large windows sets a cheerful tone in this room. Kim Moore and Nancy Targgart of @cashionhilldesign arranged the furniture for conversation in the living room. The vintage chairs, swan table, velvet ottoman, cocktail table and lotus lamp were purchased from Ariene Bethea of @dressmyroom. The ceramic cheetah and vintage crowned cranes are from Holly Loeffler’s @cruzanacollection and the oversized brass candlesticks were gifted by @assemblagecharlotte. The @diorabaird photograph is by @stephanievovas, and the chevron pillows are made of 1980s @brunschwigfils silk fabric. @cynthiarowley roller skates are a nod to one of Adkins' favorite childhood pastimes. The nesting tables originally belonged to her great-grandmother, Willa. The rug is from @krazyforrugs, and a petite but encouraging pillow from @furbishstudio sets the tone for self love.
