I don’t talk about this much… but there was a time I almost quit….

Checking emails on vacation, a constant state of stress. I’m sure you can relate to that. But the truth is, I wasn’t done with the business, I was done doing business the way we were. Something had to changed.

Strike out? Don’t stay in the dugout. Celebrate the next batter, take the next step, and build positive momentum. You can’t focus on the positive and negative at the same time.

Your gym already knows how long members will stay.

Take your attrition rate. Divide 1 by it. At 5%, that’s 20 months. That number is a leading indicator, not a lagging one. Scorecards are speedometers.

The room changes everything a webinar never will.

80 gym owners. The Olympic Training Center in Park City. Two days of conversations that stuck with us.

The latest Business of Strength podcast breaks down what came out of it. Link in bio.

Attrition is a lagging indicator.
By the time it shows up, those members are already gone.
ㅤ
Start of month: 100. Lost: 5. 5 ÷ 100 = 5%. That’s your attrition rate. Make sure to track it every month.

This rock broke my foot. The other kind of Rocks build our business. 🪨

At TS Fitness, we run on Traction by Gino Wickman and the EOS system. Rocks are a big part of how we stay focused and actually get things done, at work and in life.

About 11 weeks left in 2026. What’s your Q4 Rock? 👇

Got my new @westsidebarbellofficial shirt in.

I don’t rep many other places or people, and I always love to share all the lessons taught to me from Louie -

and just as Louie created Westside Barbell to honor Bill Peanuts West and those who paved the way before him, I believe it is important for coaches to do the same 🏆🏆

In 2027 we / @businessofstrength will host Underground Strength Con - this year we will be honoring the late Dr Ken Leistner 💪

Ironically, this collection of original Westside Barbell articles was photocopied by Dr Ken and gifted to Jim Wendler @jimwendler who then gifted it to me - I always tell Jim and many others, this book is one of the best gifts I have ever received!!!

Grateful for all the IRON lessons and IRON history 🛠️🛠️

World-class speakers, a strength carnival, great food, an open bar, and connections that go beyond the screen. We host these events for the experience, the friendships, and the community, not the profit.

One of the best moments? Finally meeting Jenny in person after working together for nearly two years. And discovering she’s even more jacked than she looks on Zoom!
