For example, this Barbie was a holiday collectible edition that my sister and nephew purchased for me. The fire attire she has on however comes from the 1998 NBA Philadelphia 76ers collab. The black nylon basketball uniform has the sixers branding AND 90s vintage print of the time. She's a vibeee. Ughhh it's an ode to younger me who played for 5 years and was an aggressive power forward lol. Sidenote: I love day 5 curly hair so much El Lapiz Sold Out @ the United! While reflecting on this, I thought of younger Jenny. I normally don't talk about all the artists and companies I work with, but @lapizconciente was promoting me so much you'd think I was the artist! I haven't felt that seen and empowered in a really time. So here l am reflecting: As a teenager, I would listen to my usbs and burnt mixtapes filled with Dominican rap and music. El Lapiz was all over that form of local distribution. So much of my career has been rooted in Dominican music because I feel I'm in constant dialogue with my younger self, with creating moments and storytelling around the artists I thought were also worth listening too and didn't see. There's so much work left to do within the Dominican Music ecosystem but as I continue my journey in rollout strategy and consulting every month feels like another level up, another step closer to the bridges I want to create between the industry and la isla. Done by the Queen @diana_dotel ofc! @unitedpalacenyc I've been conducting research and writing out of various public and Ivy League libraries, this experience also has me absorbing amazing architecture and honestly is inspiring my personal style lately.
