A great conversation with a South African hip-hop pioneer. 🔥
In this clip, DJ Ready D @djreadyd talks about his role as an MC on "Hip Hop Loves Avengers Remix" on The Freedom Project, and how he brought in DJ scratches that gave the song extra weight.
The full conversation goes much further: hip-hop in South Africa, his journey through the apartheid era to becoming a DJ, producer, and artist, and his nonprofit organization, GCAP. 🙏🏾
Watch the full episode on the Hip Hop Loves Foundation YouTube channel, and look out for more clips coming soon. 🌍

Faldien is officially our eldest student, taking over the record previously held by @hikmet_darthvadercpt who has since grown into one of our main facilitators since the @saeinstitutesouthafrica days. And honestly, this is what the journey of learning is all about.

One of the things we love most about what we do is witnessing people from different generations, backgrounds and walks of life stepping outside their comfort zones and embracing something new.

Age should never be a barrier to learning. Whether you’re 16, 40, 60 or beyond, there’s always room to grow, explore new interests, develop new skills and challenge yourself. The desire to learn, the willingness to be a beginner again and the courage to step into unfamiliar territory are what truly matter.

At Beat Bangaz DJ Academy, it’s never just about learning how to DJ. It’s about building confidence, developing patience, embracing the process and discovering what you’re capable of when you give yourself a chance. Hikmet’s journey from student to facilitator is a beautiful reminder that learning doesn’t stop when a course ends. And Faldien’s journey reminds us that it’s never too late to start something new.

You don’t have to master everything overnight. You just have to be willing to start. Whatever your age, whatever your passion, whatever new skill you’ve been thinking about pursuing, don’t let the number of candles on your birthday cake hold you back. Life is a continuous learning experience, and there’s no expiry date on curiosity.

And remember, this goes far beyond DJing. Never stop learning, growing and evolving in every area of your life. There’s always something new to discover, a new skill to develop and another version of yourself to become.

Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep evolving.

Preserve the culture. Evolve the craft. Inspire the next generation.
