Yesterday was an amazing day made possible by the amazing people in this picture, Max who left a little before it was taken, and another friend or two who donated without even attending. It was a gray day but the rain held off and spirits were high!! Extra special shout out to @maxsansalone and @lacedinpatchouli !! These awesome two and I cranked out 11 pizzas for this event (I neglected to take one picture of pizza, sorry!) Seriously though, I can’t thank them enough!! It won’t let me tag Heather but thanks to her assist with collecting the funds, being amazing and putting up with me!! She wanted to be here but was unable. The day, overall, was what I love about community. Hey y’all-we raised $350 for @lifewithpigsfarmsanctuary !! FTA, Every F*cking Day!! #veganfta #govegan #veganpizza

On this week exactly 20 years ago, I went vegan. Some people expected I would have shriveled to dust by now, but I haven't. Not at all. In fact, this has been my strongest year to date, at 42. So we celebrated by deadlifting and eating donuts.

Going vegan is still the best decision I ever made, and still, my only regret about it is not going vegan sooner.

🇺🇸❤️Yesterday the #somniumfamily came together to honor the heroes of 9/11 with the Norfolk Fire Foundations Annual Memorial Stair Climb. We climbed 110 stories to represent the World Trade Center, and every step was a reminder of the sacrifice and courage shown that day.

A huge thank you to the Norfolk Fire Foundation for hosting such an incredible event, and to all of our amazing members who showed up, climbed, and supported.🙌

We got the crew back together again this morning! With my schedule as a Firefighter, I am only able to host a class every few weeks now. With Memorial Day around the corner, we had to get some “Murph” prep in, so we did Half Murph. I am glad everyone could make it out. 💪😅🌱 🎉

Congratulations to my hero, my sweet hunny love.

You have been my hero for some time now, for many reasons, but on March 28th, 2025, you have become a hero to the entire city of Norfolk, Virginia.

For over a year, you have been taking steps to become a member of the Norfolk fire-rescue team.
Being a firefighter is of course a huge accomplishment and something we can all respect, but Ed, you have gone the extra distance choosing to apply with and represent the city of Norfolk.
With the requirements for Norfolk including EMT, AEMT, firefighter I and firefighter II, you have exceeded expectations past many other cities.
You have sacrificed so much for this accomplishment.
You stayed up late so many nights studying for your tests, quizzes, and certifications.
Many nights we were only able to be next to each other as you poured over your books and notes, cramming crazy amounts of medical information into your knowledge bank.
You held your boundaries and held your studies as priorities. Sometimes we went days without seeing each other in order for you to be the best for your future.
You chose that future over your present in many moments, holding yourself down and holding yourself accountable.
You started a whole new career right as you turned 45! There are so few who would be brave enough to take this step and fewer who would make it through the entire course.
You said you absolutely have 20 more great years in you. You knew that you had what it takes to choose this path and complete it. Your drive and discipline are truly unrivaled.
You have made it through, and made it to this moment 🥹
I will always be honored to be the one at your side, to be counted on when times were tough, and be here at the finish line, ready to start your next chapter with you.
I can’t believe you’re mine and I CAN believe you completed this incredible process for your journey,
You were always going to make it,
And now you’re here, presidential hair and all, looking regal and professional.
I love you Ed, thank you for allowing me on this adventure with you. I cant wait to see what’s next ♥️
