Flew high and crashed hard😅 So happy with this huge PR! I didn't know I had this in me. I gave it my all during the @bigseries.run. My first time running this amazing event, but I'll be back for sure.

Unfortunately I got really sick the following morning, but at least I'd already run my race😁

Double World Champ OCR 🥇🇮🇪

The short course win from yesterday was so exciting!! Didn’t have this one yet😉 And today’s standard race went so smoothly. It went out fast(er than I could handle) but from the @toroz.gear captain hook obstacle onward I just kept mindlessly running.

I really didn’t expect this outcome if you would’ve asked me a few weeks ago. I got sick for almost two entire weeks and thought racing competitively here was hopeless. But maybe the extra rest worked out in my favor😅

I want to thank everyone for their kind words, it really means a lot! (I’ll get to responding to you all soon🫣)

Tomorrow I will run the mixed national team race to close out the weekend. Excited for this final race!

But maybe (just maybe) my greatest achievement this weekend is Stijn’s face when I beat him with sudoku’s, truly priceless.

Just a little recap from the OCREC Short Course today (and the days leading up to it)🍹

I was really excited to race in Irun but also very nervous about this technical course. I travelled here with my dad who has always been my biggest supporter (and toughest critic).

I could barely eat this morning and my body was shaking (apparently it’s possible to feel cold in this climate). It’s been a while since I’ve been this nervous.

Anyways, I went out around 2nd/3rd place, trading places with @ulrikke_evensen with @tatsiana_pekhtserava in the lead. The carries were heavy and the hills were steep (at least to me) but around halfway I started feeling good!! Took the lead and reached the finish field first.

There were still 10 obstacles remaining at that point with no running sections anymore. The part that I was most afraid of went well. The swinging monkey bars were tough and I barely made it. Then the next one was easy (or so I thought) and with my arms still pumped from before I didn’t stand a chance…

One band lost, 4 obstacles to go. The twisting poles felt really slippery and I couldn’t hold on, so another band lost. One more rig. I felt my hand slipping in the last wheel BUT I hit the bell🔔 So at least I finished the race😅

No podium this year (4th place), but we still have tomorrow’s standard course and I’m very excited for that one!! Congrats to the winners👏🏻

On a side note… I chafed my back a little bit on the penalty net crawl and the shower hurt like a b**ch😳

And my dad kept complaining this week that everything he was carrying was way too heavy but he wouldn’t let me help either so I guess not my problem🤷‍♀️
