POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In this series, “The Third Valley” Sharzadian applies painting onto engraved plexiglass, creating works with two distinct faces: one mirrored, one painted. Each side reflects a different perspective of the same narrative, while the shadow remains constant. The shadow—the darker, pragmatic presence—anchors the work, resisting distraction by the shifting dance of light. The piece becomes an invitation to look toward what remains, rather than getting lost in the many ways light reshapes perception.

Mirrorwork on plexiglass, engraving, āyeneh-kāri, and acrylic painting.

On the longest night,
at the peak of darkness,
we gathered at the threshold
where light begins its return.

Around fire,
we shared stories,
read poetry,
and touched color.

This was not an event.
It was a pause.
A sacred interval.

Mirrors reflected not only our faces,
but our inner worlds.
Brushes were held not for technique,
but for intuition.
Words, images, and color
met in a single collective memory.

We listened.
We felt.
And together,
we called the light back.

With gratitude for every presence,
every heart that made this space possible. 🤍🔥

On the longest night of the year, when darkness reaches its peak, we gather at the turning point the moment light begins its return to light a fire, tell stories, read poetry and paint in red of pomegranates.

An ancient threshold.
A sacred pause.
The wheel shifts.
Light is called back.

You are invited
to hold the light together.

Sharzadian will guide a group of women through a collective painting experience designed to awaken the artist within.
Through storytelling inspired by Persian poetry, participants will enter a shared imaginative space where words, images, and colors unfold together. They will be gently guided to add their voices, stories, and brushstrokes to a collective artwork—no prior painting experience needed.

This workshop is an invitation to listen inward, create freely, and experience art as a shared, intuitive process.

Last night marked the opening of Roshan — a luminous unfolding of narrow mirror forms that sneak into the spaces between objects, guiding curiosity through reflection. They shape a narrative through guiding light.

The evening was weaved by beauty of the team that created the space and the wonderful presence of the friends visiting.

My special thanks to the incredible team who made this possible:
Lighting design by @toninho491 , whose sensitivity to light brings the works into motion.
Grateful appreciation to @safra.lx and the wonderful team and family who brought the exhibition together: @diogo_barros_pires, @j1jorgep , @manuelmacieiracoelho.
Table design by @esra.akdere, whose thoughtful touch completed the experience.

Creativity isn’t always a moment of inspiration…
Sometimes it’s the courage to reach out despite the traps in front of you.”

Being creative in difficult times is less about finding the brightest idea and more about:
🌟 taking risks,
🌟 stepping outside your comfort zone,
and
🌟 choosing “what if it works?” instead of “what if it doesn’t?”

Women continue to create while overcoming countless unseen obstacles.
Maybe the conditions aren’t ideal, maybe the ground is as striking as red and yellow… yet the spark to create is always within us.

That’s why, during our takeover this Friday with Juliana Casemiro,
we’re coming together for an open, gentle conversation about staying creative and finding inspiration when life feels overwhelming.

Creativity often begins exactly like this:
With the courage to touch what seems frightening.

——

“A criatividade nem sempre é um momento de inspiração…
Às vezes é a coragem de estender a mão apesar das armadilhas à sua frente.”

Ser criativa em tempos difíceis não é apenas encontrar a ideia mais brilhante, mas sim:
🌟 assumir riscos,
🌟 sair da zona de conforto,
e
🌟 escolher “e se der certo?” ao invés de “e se não der?”

As mulheres continuam criando enquanto superam inúmeros obstáculos invisíveis.

A criatividade muitas vezes começa exatamente assim:
Com a coragem de tocar o que parece assustador.
