🌶️ 𝐃𝐨𝐥𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐨 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐨. 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐢𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨.

One of my favourite wine spots in Florence 🍷🧀

Formaggioteca Terroir belongs to my dear friends Rebecca & Pierre, the owners of Grape Tours — a true wine-loving duo who have created one of the best little wine bars in the city.

Come for a glass or two and stay for the incredible selection of French & Italian cheeses, carefully sourced from small farms and beautifully paired with delicious wines.

A perfect Florence stop for wine lovers, cheese lovers… or, even better, both!

🍇 Harvest morning at Campo Sasso!
Pierre, Julian & Oliver (with Frisbee supervising, of course 🐾) were up early to harvest the grapes from our little vineyard of just 500 vines.
But this isn’t quite a conventional vineyard. Our vines grow agroforestry-style, woven between olive trees and fruit trees, sharing the land rather than taking it over.
Everything is done on a tiny, hands-on scale: grapes picked by hand in the cool of the early morning, brought straight in and gently pressed in the basket press.
And then? The wine begins its slow transformation in perhaps the most Campo Sasso place imaginable… our cheese cellar. 🧀🍷
From 500 vines, a family, a dog, a basket press and a cellar full of cheese.

It doesn’t get much more homemade than this!

There’s a bit of a hike to get up to Piazzale Michelangelo, but trust me—it’s absolutely worth it for this view. 🌅✨

On the way, stop by a supermarket and grab an inexpensive bottle of wine and some snacks, or if you’re a real wine lover, pop into Formaggioteca Terroir for an excellent selection of both white and red wines. 🍷🧀

Find a spot, pour yourself a glass, and watch Florence turn golden. This is one of those simple moments that makes you fall in love with the city all over again. 🇮🇹

Ottime come antipasto 😜

⚜ 𝟐𝟎 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢 𝐝𝐢 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 (𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟔 - 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔)

I highly recommend Formaggioteca Terroir @formaggioteca formaggioteca in Florence for their thoughtfully curated cheese selection and creative menu of cheese dishes, plus a few other edible treasures and a beautiful wine selection. The owners are cheese affineurs (they age their own cheeses) in Tuscany. The location is walking distance from the center but away from the maddening crowds in a quiet corner of the city. I was joined by a dear old friend who, along with her husband, are award-winning film producers and documentarians based in Tuscany: @modiomedia. They filmed the owners of Formaggiotecca Terroir as part of a television series. Great lunch!
