NYC climate week! I’d love to see you. This is a topic very near and dear to my heart. We will discuss what’s happening on the legal fight for the endangered species act (with @earthjustice @benlevitan), the rights of nature (with @moth_rights ), how storytelling, art, and culture change go hand in hand with policy (with @roxizendegi from @designsciencestudio ) AND what I did and learned entering the movement to stop commercial whaling in Iceland. Now more than ever, we must come together to amplify each other’s work. It’ll be part discussion, part strategy session, and part experience—OFC I’ll be playing the bioacoustics 🐋 Please share! And in a sweet turn of events, we are opening up 10 seats for César’s law students- if you have the financial means to cover their tickets, please consider doing so as we’d like the community to come together to make it accessible for them. Seeing this project get installed was so incredibly rewarding and wonderful. This was an easy idea to conceptualize and a challenging one to engineer and execute. And yet… everything came out flawlessly. I am very proud of all of us!
“Wings of Change” is a permanent installation at @northpointdev in Kansas City.
I have been working on it for a looong time (2.5- 3 years)
Inspired in transformation, the cycles of life, flight and growth, reflecting many important stages I lived through in this time.
So grateful for this opportunity to dream and create. Grateful for everyone who added to the vision.
Creative collaboration and 3D design with @ari.lazer

“Wings of Change” finally in its full glory. 🙌🪽

After nearly three years of sketches, conversations, and relentless exploration, the sculpture has finally taken physical form.

Inspired by life, DNA, transformation, flight, and the cycles of existence, the piece centers on two intersecting spirals.
A sequence of spheres symbolizes the cycles we all move through, moments of immersion, challenge, growth, and renewal. For the first time, birds become a central element in my work. A flow of elements that seamlessly evolve from intricate feathers and leaves into birds taking flight. Flight, for me, is a metaphor for life itself. We grow our wings, learn to fly, land, and when life shifts, we learn to fly again in a new way.

Light is another thread, asking how we can live brighter, more radiant lives. And finding alignment; coming to the center point where everything perfectly lines up.

Wings of Change now lives at NorthPoint Development in Kansas City, created in collaboration with @ari.lazer whose creativity and craftsmanship helped shape the final piece in profound ways. He joined the process halfway through and helped transform the vision into a three-dimensional reality. He brought his own creative eye, experience, skill, and sensitivity to the work, and infused the piece with priceless contributions.

Seeing an idea that lived in my imagination for so long finally materialize is hard to put into words. Every artwork begins as a wild thought. This one found its wings. 🪽🙌🪽

Big thank you to @celialopbac for the countless hours through all the phases, her immense dedication, attention to detail and refined creative eye is always essential.

This past year it has been such a delight to be collaborating with @claudiabuenoart - a series of dream come true moments, in art and life. And watching this spiral of 84 steel feathers come together is at the top of the list.

Deeply grateful for @roxizendegi and @habritual for opening these doors, and coordinating the project. To @bentimby, April Pugh @ingrainstudio, and Emily Loubser for being such a fabulous team on the ground!

And to Nathaniel Hagedorn, and the whole amazing team at @northpointdev for the vision, trust and tremendous support in bringing all the pieces to life.

Stay tuned for the completed piece.

Birthday in Iceland 🇮🇸 photo dump 💫 Thank you @iunify for one of the greatest honors of my life to share music during the eclipse itself - a song I wrote from my heart - an unforgettable moment I will cherish my whole life.

What a gift to be surrounded by so many epic humans, creating art and magic, gathering to witness planetary and celestial alignment 🌙- we even got perfect weather, a 4-hour sunset, and an aurora borealis on my birthday 🥰

Thank you all for the love and birthday wishes, for all the inspirational fire to keep going 🧚‍♀️
So grateful to the dragon protectors of this glacier-covered volcano for holding us 🐉
And to the celestial bodies for dancing with us.

Birthdays are a sacred ritual. Everyone should be honored fully at least once a year. And I will honor mine every year, no matter what, because life is SO short and precious.

After a year of loss and death, I know it in my bones: being alive is not guaranteed. Being loved out loud is not owed. That is holy.

After a year of loss and death, I know it in my bones: being alive is not guaranteed. Being loved out loud is not owed. That is holy.

First, I gathered 50 of my dearest friends in Ibiza at @hekamiah_ibiza — everyone brought something. We didn’t attend an experience. We built one together.

Then eight days in Iceland @icelandeclipse with some of my favorite soul family — @allenhulsey @mike.zuckerman @bearkittay @julz @rosie @stevenbrooks. We sang as the sun sank into the ocean. Ancient sauna ritual, a plunge into frigid water, ceremonies of my own in a magical land.

And under the eclipse — at the base of the 700,000-year-old Snæfellsnes glacier, in the path of totality — I honored my beloved Ximena from my RV, cooked for my friends, and sang the theme song for my new book, which published that same week and became an Amazon bestseller. A birthday, a beloved, and a book beneath a darkening sky. What an unrepeatable, holy gift. 🤍I gathered 50 of my dearest friends in Ibiza at @hekamiah.ibiza — everyone bringing something to offer. The @designsciencestudio Interdependence Summit in Hopland, CA was so inspiring, encouraging and nurturing❤️‍🔥
I’m grateful to have been able to participate, contribute and connect with so many incredible visionary humans at the original Solar Living Institute land as we share visions and practical templates for a more regenerative future💫

Thank you to @roxizendegi and the whole crew for making this possible 🫶🐋🪶🌸🌈
