H u n t i n g // We went mushroom hunting over the weekend. Foraging, where we live, is one of our favorite things to do when the weather gets cooler and wetter. Found lots of honey mushrooms that I used to prepare our delicious meals. No food photos this time. Just some of the beautiful mushrooms we found and the gorgeous view on our walk. Get my recipe book @ www.richveganrecipes.com or via Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay - links in bio 🍃 Wellbeing + Health = Wealth Rich flavor and nutrition are a perfect combination. Every time I prepare a meal for visiting friends who aren’t vegan, they say if they could eat this deliciously every day, they’d switch. I love the sound of that. Plant food is a path toward a compassionate vegan lifestyle. When we live our lives and nourish our temples without the abuse of animals, we embrace compassion on all levels. The cleaner the temple, the more harmony we experience on Earth. Visit the link in bio r i c h + v e g a n recipes - published on pdf for all to easily download worldwide anytime, anywhere. Why only in digital format? Because it saves trees and precious resources that go into the making of a physical book. You can always print it, preferably on tree-free or recycled paper. H e a r t y // I made a delicious spelt and tapioca bread with nutritional yeast the other day. It’s a variation of my vegan pão de queijo in my recipe book. I’ve been missing the fresh spelt sourdough bread I was getting in the US and Peru. No one has been making the ones I like in the last year. I love black bread for its hearty taste and nutritional benefits. I enjoy making and eating my spelt loaf, pão de queijo variation. W o o d // Dylan does the hard work of hauling fallen or standing dead trees from around the forest. He spots them as we go for walks. Then goes back later, brings them down, saws them on the spot, then hauls them in his truck or ATV trailer to our property and cuts them to the right size for our wood burning stove. Winters are long and the snow pack that piles on trees sometimes it’s too much for some trees. So every year there are trees that have come down, cracked in half or are barely standing. S a r i // One piece, many looks. The Sari Shawl is a beautiful one-of-a-kind versatile wearable work of art that can be worn in many ways. Wear it in various coat-like styles, a long kimono coat with a smaller scarf or wide obi tied around the waist, as a dress, as a shawl and cozy scarf, a sarong, as a halter, off-the shoulders or strapless dress. Made with a luxurious organic cotton Andean gauze, grown by small family farms in Peru, each Sari Shawl is a unique piece of wearable art. Featuring eco prints that are individually hand printed with plants by @nathalieshapiama using leaves, flowers and her special techniques. See all prints on web shop. Shop link in bio. Price includes shipping. For the capsule collection shop at https://thesageandthebutterfly.square.site or DM me if you want to use Venmo, Zelle, PayPal or Apple Pay. Follow @violetavillacorta_studio for more. Why organic natural fabrics and plant dyes? Because the skin is the biggest organ and absorbs everything. So it’s beneficial to dress your body with healthy clothes. Synthetic and conventional fabrics are full of toxic chemicals that are unhealthy for the soil, ecosystem, workers all along the chain of production and down to the wearer. Wearing organic natural clothes with plant dyes are good all around. You can feel their higher frequency. It feels good. It looks good. It is good for the temple and the soul. • • • • • • • • • #ecoprint #sustainablefashion #fashion #ecofashion #organiccotton

H i l a r i o u s // Now, this is why stacking firewood is my favorite thing to do… I can barely hold that huge ax! It’s almost my size. This is from 2023. There’s a technique to it. I obviously haven’t gotten the swing of it or the hand slide motion on my first day. I’ve yet to master it! And yeah, genius, I’m doing it with my shiny flip flops 😅 Lucky, I held on well to the ax. In other posts you’ll see Dylan doing the hard work of hauling fallen trees from around the forest to the property. Then he saws them and chops them to the right size. B l a c k P a s t a S a u c e // This was a fun dinner to prepare. The potent black sauce gets its color by using Cushuro in powder form. Cushuro is a cyanobacteria or algae that grows in streams and lakes in the Andean highlands. Nicknamed “Caviar of the Andes,” because of its round transparent shape, it is harvested by hand from high-altitude waters. It’s a superfood rich in protein, more than meat or quinoa, and also provides calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium, vitamins A and B, and essential amino acids. Beyond cuisine, Cushuro is valued in natural remedies for boosting immunity and treating inflammation and it’s even used in cosmetics and hair products. Ingredients: Chopped Garlic, Eggplant, Crushed Tomatoes, Sundried Tomatoes, Cushuro Powder, Water, Chard, Kale, Parsley, Basil, Cashew Butter, Olive Oil, Sea Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder, Kalamata Olives, Walnuts, Lobster Mushrooms foraged by @thesageandthebutterfly Get my recipe book @ www.richveganrecipes.com or via Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay - links in bio 🍃 Wellbeing + Health = Wealth Rich flavor and nutrition are a perfect combination.
