A late frost in May and a 40% loss in yield was a tough pill to swallow this harvest... but Mother Nature has a way of reminding us who’s in charge! 🌾

Farming is one big learning curve, but tasting the wines coming back from our 2024 and 2025 harvests makes every setback worth it. Huge thanks to the talented winemakers at Offbeat Wines, @defined_wine , and @renegadeurbanwinery for turning our grapes into something so special, and we can’t wait to see what comes from our new collaboration with @flintvineyard this year!

Farming might throw us a curveball every now and then, but when the wine tastes this good, we’d do it all over again. 🍷✨

Last week we had dinner in the woods, and it was one of the most magical experiences we’ve had to date.

This is a beautifully curated dinner by @melwinebrown at @browningbros & @teybrookfarm. We wandered the 20 acres of woodland and had the most delicious flambéed garlic prawns before finding our seat in the fairytale-like setting.

With wood-fire at the heart of it all, we got cosy with a glass of wine, and as fire normally does… it made us open up. Within a couple of hours, we went from being seated next to complete strangers to feeling like we connected and shared stories with people we would never have met if it wasn’t for this experience.

And then there was the whopping 5-course dinner (6 if we count the amazing Mini Hokey Pokey Bombe Alaska)… all of it surrounded by trees, with soft music playing in the background, before we eventually moved over to the bar and were rewarded with live folk music.

We finished off our drinks while listening to the music and slowly got ready to join the real world… it did feel like we were in our little bubble and disconnected from it all for a few hours.

It’s that time again 🌲🍽️🌲

The autumn edition of The Wild Table. Our woodland restaurant reopens this weekend. A delicious journey of fire-cooked food on our fifth-gen organic farm in collaboration with @brixtonlaundry and @melwinebrown.

Experiment and possible future Flint Wine Club exclusive incoming!

We’re making a Charmat Pet Nat. Natural sugars, no SO2, PIWI disease-resistant grapes and indigenous yeasts all from a biodynamic vineyard (our friends at Teybrook Farm).

This is going to be an interesting one we hope. Keep an eye out for updates throughout the winemaking process. by @teybrookfarm

Why PIWIs? 🍇🌿

We spoke to the big cheese, Richard, at @teybrookfarm in Essex.

Richard planted PIWIs (disease-resistant grape varieties) as a natural fit for his organic approach. Varieties like Sauvignac and Cabaret Noir have been developed to have stronger natural resistance to disease. They fare much better when it comes to mildew and botrytis allowing vineyards to farm with significantly fewer chemicals.

For us, PIWIs are about exploring the future of British wine. They're an exciting opportunity to experiment, push boundaries, and see what's possible through thoughtful, minimal-intervention farming.

Our May Wild Table weekend already feels like a dream ✨ Fresh off being featured in @condenasttraveller as a top wild kitchen experience, it lived up to the magic in every way.

This weekend was the first outing for our Tey Brook Organic Farm sparkling rosé. Pouring our very first vintage felt so special, especially featuring it in the welcome cocktail! After hours spent picking grapes and handwriting every label, seeing everyone love it so much was incredibly fulfilling.

@melwinebrown and I are always left speechless when it’s over. There’s just so much magic, from woodland walks and Mel’s moving words in the glade, to the smell of wood smoke and dishes prepared over fire like works of art. Then day turns to night, the site twinkles, and laughter carries around the campfire.

We met so many wonderful guests from all over the UK. Mel’s word for this May was ‘Encouragement’, and it really felt just that. Watching strangers arrive and leave as friends around the communal tables is a beautiful thing to witness.

Mel, you’re the dream wingwoman and inspiration to us all! From the moment we first spoke I knew this was going to be something really special. We’re so grateful for you and The Laundry team and the beautiful, contagious energy you bring to the farm. The endless hours of prep they pour in behind the scenes result in the most seamless experience. Watching them craft this seasonal menu in our back garden is a privilege. Every course was thoughtful and delicious, and we simply couldn’t do this without them.

“A fun retirement project,” he said. 🤥🍇

It started with one of Dad’s wacky ideas and a casual 15 acres. Cut to four years later: we’re frantically tallying grapes against the clock, making midnight runs to Kent, and wondering how a hobby became a full-time career.

Dad’s “cool idea” involved 18,000 vines, a steep learning curve, and a bank balance that only seemed to move in one direction. But four years later, we’re finally about to taste the results.

Meg has written a fantastic and very funny account of the chaos, the steep learning curves, and why the head Browning only seems to pop up for the tastings these days. Leaving the land better than we found it 🌿

For over a century, the Browning family has called Tey Brook home. From our great-great-grandfather’s first harvest to the 50,000kW solar arrays powering our cabins and venues today, this land has always been the boss.

In the 90s, Dad traded the “straight lines” of traditional farming for organic soil and wilder edges. Today, we’re just carrying that torch, whether it’s repurposing old grain silos into accomodation or waiting patiently for our first vintage wine in 2026.

It’s not just about running a business; it’s about keeping a promise to the four generations who came before us.

Every stay, celebration, event and gathering helps us look after the land we grew up on - so thank you for your support. It’s a place that naturally brings people together and deserves to be cherished as such.

This project is my heart and soul. It’s living and breathing my most favorite of all things: a nature-nurture culinary journey like no other. To every soul who grabbed a seat, I can’t wait to host you in this space.
