A lovely new addition to The Corner Store pinboard, and home. Since our doors have opened, our space has grown and so has our little community. Strangers have become regulars. And regulars have become friends... Friends who are just like the coolest, most talented, wonderful humans ever who not only support and visit us regularly, but also leave us little ‘love notes’. How cute?! We see you, we love you and keep em coming! ✏️ Featuring ‘The Corner Store’ print by Lauriana Glenny (@laurianaglenny_art) – available from Aesplore Studio (@aesplore_studio) located at 53 Church Street, Cape Town. by @thecornerstoreonbree

Red. Rich, indulgent, and stretched from floor to ceiling. This is ‘stoep paint’ reimagined by The Corner Store. 🍷 Swipe for some BTS of the corner store team at work – captured just a few weeks before we opened our doors – featuring Strop Ted by Olympic Paint 🎨 and brought to life by David Matthews 🪜. Blue. As the Monday comes, so do the ‘blues’... 🩵 Swipe for some BTS of The Corner Store team (hard!) at work – captured just a few weeks before we opened our doors – featuring blue hues by Olympic Paint 🎨 and brought to life by David Matthews 🪜. Yellow. Is it lame to do a throwback Thursday? Perhaps. But in the spirit of yellow, we’re feeling a little cheeeeesy. 🧀 Swipe for some BTS of The Corner Store team (hard!) at work – captured just a few weeks before we opened our doors – featuring yellow hues by Olympic Paint 🎨 and brought to life by David Matthews 🪜. The first pit stop for ‘Roam’ 📔 For last week’s First Thursday train, we activated our train-stop shop and The Corner Store (@thecornerstoreonbree) and raised (a couple of) glasses to House and Leisure’s (@houseandleisure) recently launched winter edition, Roam. 🚃🍾 Joined by a generous mix of friends, collaborators, industry folk, and curious pedestrians, our corner quickly transformed into a buzz of cheer... Chatting and cheersing every story, every page, and everything ‘Roam’. 💛 For those who missed our gathering, fear not. 👉 Our LOOKBOOK book nook is always open – during trading hours, of course – and stocked with the latest (& some archive) editions of House and Leisure. 📓📔📒📙 With special thanks to Veuve Clicquot (@veuveclicquot), Ghost Corner Wines (@ghostcorner_wines), Victoria Gin (@victorialuxurygin), our neighbours at the corner – @lionsbread.ct, @thejoinerysa, @siafuhome, @dearrae + @stoop.capetown – and everyone who contributed to the celebration (and making) of Volume 21. ✨ xoxo House and Leisure + LOOKBOOK Studio by @thecornerstoreonbree
Tjoo, tjoo. 🚃 All aboard! 💺 Meet us on ‘The Corner’ for chats, champers & a toast to the new edition of House and Leisure (@houseandleisure), Volume 21 (Roam), this (First) Thursday. Munch on sourdough focaccia slices and pantry food goods prepared by @lionsbread.ct. 🥫Browse African luxury from the friends upstairs – @thejoinerysa, @siafuhome, and @dearrae. 👜 Stop, touch, and smell the roses (or tulips?) at our florist downstairs, @stoop.capetown. 🌷 Sip on @veuveclicquot & @victorialuxurygin🍸and, last but not least, have a good time! 🥂 Thursday, 4 June 4pm - 8pm The Corner Store 164 Bree Street Cape Town by @thecornerstoreonbree
Pssst… we have a new downstairs roommate, and you’re invited to the housewarming 🌻 Come pop by our little corner tomorrow for Stoop’s (@stoop.capetown) soft opening. Flowers, objects + wine. Thursday, 21 may 6 – 9pm The Corner Store 164 Bree Street Cape Town by @thecornerstoreonbree

The Corner Store, more than a store. Hidden behind baby blue shutters on Bree, five brands co-exist under one roof: the bakery – @lionsbread.ct, the jewellery atelier – @dearrae, the outfitter – @thejoinerysa, the journal – @houseandleisure, and the weaving house – @siafuhome. A deliscious mix of luxury and African craft. Every detail has been thoughtfully made local: the space is finished in Olympic Paint and brought to life by David Matthews, with furniture by Ex Hotel. The signature awnings are by Solara, a proud family-run business. (@olympicpaints, @davidmatthewspainting & @ex.hotel) Come say hi: 164 Bree Street, Cape Town.
