🤯 Well, I’ve never it this way before! “Now I can see that you’re working” as Murat Berkin so gleefully said. Guys, my mind was absolutely blown. Who would’ve thought that Short Spine could be so… unenjoyable 😂 Super excited for my experienced babies to try this! by @venarse
Original sound for your pleasure 😂 I was sick out of my mind for over the week, but managed to drag myself out of bed to attend this workshop by 2nd Generation Classical Pilates teacher, Murat Berkin. I experienced many firsts that day but the one that sticks out — it was my first time on a classical reformer (beautifully made by @legacypilates), being taught the classical repertoire, by someone who learned the Joseph Pilates method almost from the source. Much of the information shared to us bewildered me, because it was so vastly different from what I’ve learned (and observed) over the last few years. I mean, seriously awesome mind-blowing moments happened (DM me to find out more) 😂 Thanks to @themethoduae for hosting this workshop, and to Murat and @burak.yldrim1 for their wonderful guidance! Can’t wait to share with the rest of you through my classes ❤️ by @venarse
Nuff said 💪 Looking forward to finishing the year healthier and stronger with everyone! by @venarse
I thought I wasn’t but … I did it 😙🎉🥳 Thanks to @ricardo.jaramillo.pilates for inspiring me to try this really cool move, with a slight variation (I’m in Pilates V as opposed to parallel toes). The big range of articulation really gave my spine the massage it needed today. Now that I know how to do it, I can teach it. Who wants to tryyyyyyy 🥰 by @venarse
AND how to get there + transition safely ❤️‍🩹🤕 I always take the time to demonstrate set-up, especially when the starting position requires lots of stability. Stabilise shoulder and forearm position ✅ Tripod of support ✅ You can add many other side plank variations like pike + threading the needle (ouch) or forearm plank variations like the shoulder glide! Save for whenever you need a reminder of how to set-up! by @venarse
SPED UP 3x 😭 Because yeah, rolling down maintaining the L leg position requires a whole lot of focus. Hands down, wide collarbone, ribs in, pelvic stability, hamstrings, quads, spine articulation… aaahhhhh 😵‍💫 I loved it though, and am grateful to have tried it at @absolutepilatessingapore! Again, not a move to teach in a random reformer class (for me, anyway 😅). Another one to add in the list for a potential workshop! by @venarse
Layering up your Short Spine 🔥 Lots of core to maintain that “float” as you energise and press through the hips and hamstrings. Your arms play a crucial role too. Press your palms and triceps down firmly throughout the movement. by @venarse
For the ones who want a strong, firmer middle, catch the killer at the end of this reel! *** If you want to tighten and define your midline, you need to work your obliques — and the side bend series on the shortbox does exactly that. Save this to try with your instructor. ✨ by @venarse
But make it Reformer Pilates 🤩 NGL totally obsessed with this moving plank challenge, done so beautifully by Kim Mu-Yeol. Took all my focus keep the hips in position and press up with the triceps. Tried this on a medium spring first, then upped the challenge to a light spring which was wayyyyy too hard 🤣 🙌 who wants to try! by @venarse
Instructors, does this happen to you too?? 2nd half of the summer break to go, next in my hometown 🇸🇬! Looking forward to being with loved ones, indulging in local fare and shopping at Uniqlo 🤣🫣 I’ll also be trying out some new studios and instructors, and if energy permits, I’ll share my reviews here! Missing my regulars and studios, but we’ll meet soon! by @venarse
Beach Pilates: Strengthens your core AND exfoliates places you didn’t know needed exfoliating 😂 wearing @wearesandbar, a Singapore-based sustainable swimwear brand 😍 by @venarse
A constant battle in Spain, the land of the yummiest potato chips. Ah well, there’s always time to Pilates later 😜 Hope everyone’s summer is going well! by @venarse
