The murals are complete…My friend and I were out @homemcr to check out the #themanchesteropen whilst we were there I took her on a #bts tour of my murals for T1.

Set across six walls and three levels; Stalls, Circle, and Upper circle of the Theatre One walkways. The piece is called ‘Home from Home’ and here’s why… by @venessascott_uk

One of my FAVORITE parts of creating a mural is experiencing how it is received.

These two pics are some of my fave moments so far. The first is by street art photographer @jorddy_canvas who captured my piece so beautifully. Let me try and explain… When I am designing a mural I’m usually sent or go and take a pic of the wall. After which I tend to sketch over the photo in order to create a mock up. This image of my finished mural has been taken from the exact angle that I first viewed the wall at. This, is the exact angle that I spent the most time looking at the wall from before arriving on site, so when I saw the finished piece captured from this angle it really made me smile. - Thanks Jorddy and thanks for sharing the image with me too.

The second was captured by awesome Matt @globalstreetart who spent the entire week documenting the progress of my mural plus several others around the City through film and photography. This WIP pic is an absolute fave of mine and I think I will call this photo ‘Me, Mural, Mechanisms and Machinery’ - Mmmm, love it! 😄.

LIVE LESSONS LIVE // for World Book Day.

Here’s a little scrapbook of this epic episode. We filmed at @britishcommercialvehiclemuseum in Leyland, the team there were amazing, the vehicles were beyond! (If you didn’t already know…I’m a bit of a transport enthusiast!) and it was so much fun.

The children on set were fantastic, the vibes on set were pure joy and behind the scenes Joel treated us to some of his mind boggling magic tricks. It was incredible to meet and work with Vick, she is so nice and her work with literature is super inspiring. All in all the episode turned out amazing.

Swipe to the end to check out the awesome team, who you don’t get to see, that help make this program possible. I love the teamwork it takes to make such a fantastic show. It is always such a wonderful experience. I never get tired of it. “Let the Live Lesson, begin!” 💜

If you missed the LIVE broadcast you can watch it again on BBC iPlayer now.

After watching @beckysbazaar video Me, Vanice, and my tiny pink Smart Candy headed to @renewgreatermanchester to see what treasures we could find… we found a lot, the only problem was; how were we going to fit it all in the car! 🚗 #smartadventure #renewhubgreatermanchester #upcycling #sisteradventure taken in Renew Hub by @venessascott_uk

After this week’s action packed 500 Words episode I felt so inspired that I kept drawing long after we went off air… Here’s my latest version of Lady Vee. I can’t wait to add the wild paint splotches and continue writing her story…

500 Words, the UK’s largest story writing competition for 5-11 year-olds, is now open for entries.

The competition celebrates children’s creativity and imagination, encouraging children from across the UK to create an original story in 500 words or fewer. Find out more on the BBC website. Watch the episode again on BBC iPlayer. 📝🎨

I am super excited to announce…

that I’ve been appointed Chair of Wigan Cultural Partnership.

It’s a real honour to take on this role at such an exciting time for culture across the Wigan Borough.

The borough has an incredible creative community, with talented people, ambitious organisations and inspiring work. I’m looking forward to working with partners, artists, creatives, communities and stakeholders to champion that work, create new opportunities and help put culture at the heart of Wigan’s future.

I’m excited for what we can achieve together. 💜

Treat time and a little something for Mum too…

My mum has always been my best mural assistant and a few years back when I painted down in Bristol at Upfest I introduced Mum to spray paint. (She was an absolute fan favourite) Now, when I think of a treat I can get for her, it’s not a nice cake or even roll of fabric - it’s a can of Burner Black from the awesome peeps @suspect_package - I kid you not, a giant tin of black spray with a juicy fat cap is her absolute fave. I can’t wait to see what she creates with it 😄💖 taken in Manchester, United Kingdom by @venessascott_uk

We got chatting to Irena, an artist exhibiting at Creation Fest, about creativity, Jesus, and her own prophetic art practice 🧡

We're so inspired, give it a listen to see what she'd tell an artist wanting to use their gifts for God 🌊 by @venessascott_uk
