Η φετινή άνοιξη με βρήκε σε άλλη ήπειρο, πέρα από τον Ατλαντικό. Έξι εβδομάδες στην Big Easy, στην καρδιά της Λουιζιάνα, στην επική Νέα Ορλεάνη, και άλλες τόσες στη Νέα Υόρκη, την πόλη που μπορείς να είσαι οτιδήποτε, οποτεδήποτε και να παραμένεις πάντα όσο αόρατη χρειάζεσαι να είσαι.

Σήμερα, τέσσερις μήνες μετά, ανέτρεξα σε μερικές φωτογραφίες και σκέφτηκα πως αυτή εδώ, εσωκλείει μέσα της μια πολύ όμορφη στιγμή αστικής περιπλάνησης και περιπατητικής χαρτογράφησης, από εκείνες που σε κάνουν να νιώθεις πως με κάθε βήμα σου γνωρίζεις βαθύτερα όλα εκείνα που για τους υπόλοιπους διαβάτες, ίσως εξακολουθήσουν να παραμένουν αόρατα.

Sharing glimpses from AMA House’s Fall Art Residency 🍁✨

On Saturday, 3 October, AMA House opened its doors for an Open Studio with artist-in-residence Ruthi Helbitz Cohen (@ruthi_helbitz_cohen ).

During her residency in Athens, Ruthi developed new works as part of her ongoing research into femininity, gender, and the cultural frameworks shaping the representation of women.

The Open Studio offered a space for exchange, inviting the audience and the artist to engage in conversation and share perspectives on these themes. 🤍

On Saturday, 3 October 2026, from 12 PM to 3 PM, AMA House opens its doors to
the public for an Open Studio with artist-in-residence Ruthi Helbitz Cohen
(@ruthi_helbitz_cohen ) ✨

During her residency in Athens, Ruthi Helbitz Cohen has been developing new work
and research that continues her exploration of femininity, gender, and the cultural

AMA House Autumn Art Residency 🍂

We are excited to welcome artist and professor Ruthi Helbitz Cohen (@ruthi_helbitz_cohen )to Athens for a two-week art residency at AMA House! ✨

Emphasizing engagement and exchange, AMA House fosters exhibition-making and artist residencies. As part of our Autumn programming, associated curator Vicky Tsirou (@vicky_pistachio )has invited Ruthi Helbitz Cohen for a tailor-made residency programme.
Ruthi’s multidisciplinary practice explores the female body, identity, mythology, and the emotional complexities of the human condition.
Through paintings, installations, sculptures, and works on paper, she creates haunting and poetic worlds where beauty and discomfort coexist—challenging perceptions of femininity, vulnerability, and power.
Through exposure to fear and doubt, the women Cohen portrays seek answers and, perhaps, refuge.
Her work has been exhibited internationally in museums and institutions across Europe, Asia, and the United States. 🌍

‘Enfolding’ 〰️ A thread-pulled composition that brings my illustrative textile technique into a new, dimensional form. The curving metal rods, enclosed within the fabric, created a challenging and interactive new approach.

«Πέρα από τον Αργαλειό // Beyond the Loom»

Μία έκθεση που εκκινεί από την υφαντική παράδοση των Ανωγείων και εκτείνεται «πέρα από τον αργαλειό».

Στην έκθεση «Beyond the Loom» πέντε νεαρές δημιουργοί συνομιλούν με τον υλικό πολιτισμό και την υφαντική παράδοση των Ανωγείων, αρθρώνοντας σύγχρονες αφηγήσεις γύρω από το νήμα, την ύφανση, την υλικότητα, τον χρόνο, την κοινότητα, τη γυναικεία ταυτότητα και τη συλλογική μνήμη.
