I celebrate myself this international women's day.

And yes that's me wearing a bridesmaids dress and crocs!

I've been thinking long and hard about how I wanted to write this post and I'll admit it's been difficult. It's been a stressful few months for me dealing with personal issues that ultimately stopped me being able to run this business properly. Worst of all my mental health suffered and I found myself in a deep hole of darkness. It hasn't been easy.

I celebrate myself today becaue if the last year and half has taught me anything it's that even when I'm at my lowest I still push through and I'm pretty cute too.

I like to be honest with you all about how I'm doing because guys I'm made up of more than cake (40% at least though) one day I'll like to create a space where we can have conversations about working in hospitality & running a business while juggling home life and mental health struggles.

Of course I couldn't have made it this far without the help of some very special women in my life. Constantly checking in, giving advice, wiping my tears and quite literally saving my life in these last few months through what has been quite honestly the worst experience ever. There aren't enough words.

@lopeariyo @sisterwomanvegan
@terri_mercieca @lovezae love you all! Special mention to @akwasibmensa & my brother @rachidesb and to all my friends on and offline and family I haven't tagged but have places in my heart.

And if you've made it this far thank you for continuing to support me and order from me and for having patience with me. GOOD NEWS!

I've written 3 new recipes for @ocadouk magazine, you can check them out online or in print if you buy the mag via the website (links in my bio)

1. Peanut butter and cocoa tart topped with peanut brittle - ft @manilife_ rich cocoa peanut butter

2. Nutty Chocolate Bars - vegan, gluten free, freezable and so easy to make

3. Upside-down almond and cherry cake - the perfect tea-time treat. Vegan, gluten-free & ft @pipandnut almond butter

I'm thinking of doing a video tutorial on one of these recipes, would you like to see? If so which one do you think, or maybe all 3? 🤔

Happy Friday everyone xx

P.S: I know I've been gone a while. I'll explain in my next post.

A very Merry Christmas from me to you with this throwback picture of my first ever job 10 years ago, where my love affair with food began and they let me spend some time in the kitchen and help make a few things for the counter.

It's sadly no longer around (it's now @markethalls Fulham Broadway)

Anyway I hope you all have a great Christmas, watching movies, eating food and snuggling with your loved ones.

Matcha Sundays.

This very special last minute beauty is 8 inches & 4 layers of:

- matcha sponge, white chocolate buttercream, yuzu curd, pistachio, white choc, matcha buttercream & matcha drip and all the fun stuff on top -

A slice of this and a glass of champers make for the perfect birthday celebration, don't you think?

Happy Sunday to you all, currently having a cup of tea and binging on the new season of Money Heist. That's it. That's the plan for the day. 💚
