Locked Out Actors

It’s true that advertising agencies seem extremely proud of the awards they get. Many of the ads that have cleaned up over the last year feature ACTRA performers, albeit uncredited, and we too are wondering where does the lockout leave agencies?

We know this is touchy - it somehow implies that we think non union actors are less talented. That’s not the case. There are many very talented non union actors - many of whom WANT to be in the union.

But it’s important to acknowledge the credibility and talent of union actors who have performed in thousands of ad campaigns under the National Commercial Agreement. Thousands of whom have been without commercial income for 7 months now.
