I’ve spent the last few days trying to come up with something profound to say… but I’ve got nothing.
I showed up hoping to have a solid day, but never in a million years thought it would go like that. Still trying to process what the hell happened!
Huge thanks to
@daybreakracing for consistently putting on such incredible events, Hood Hundred was no exception. Everything was dialed and the volunteers were amazing from start to finish! Ending the race because of the wildfire smoke couldn’t have been an easy decision, but it was the right one. My heart goes out to everyone whose race was cut short..
Thank you
@runspeedland for believing in me and giving me the confidence to chase goals like this. You’ve got a lot of time to think about what’s going wrong over 100 miles, but not once was I worried about my feet. Pretty surreal to share my first win in a pair of your shoes.
@connor_heredia @trev.noggle thank you so much for everything!! This was my first time having a crew and looking back I can without a doubt say, I couldn’t have done that without you both. These guys are the real MVP’s!
@noahgoodwintraining @manny_cortez_710 @kyle__cox elite work! You kept the vibes high, made sure I kept on top of nutrition in and out of aid, and somehow managed to keep me on the trail while I was literally falling asleep around mile 90. Was so much fun to have you all out for a lap!
To everyone who volunteered, cheered, sent a text, tracked the dot, or yelled my name somewhere in the woods.. thank you. Those little moments add up more than you realize.
Still feels a little unreal. Thanks, everyone, for making it a weekend I’ll never forget.
