I was praying for a miracle this morning. It didn’t come. 💔 I woke up hoping that another rescue had stepped up overnight. That maybe some of these five dogs at Devore Shelter had been saved. But all five are still there. All five are facing euthanasia without rescue. I’m willing to pull a few, but here’s the thing: I COULD SAVE ALL FIVE IF PEOPLE WOULD STEP UP TO FOSTER. I’m begging you. These are small dogs, roughly 12–26 pounds. They need somewhere safe to land, someone willing to open their home and give them a chance. These are the five lives hanging in the balance: 🐾 ROCIO — Female, 9 years old, 11.7 lbs Brown Chihuahua. A senior girl who deserves the chance to grow old in a loving home. 🐾 HERMONIUS — Male, 17.5 lbs Cream Chihuahua. Age not provided by the shelter. 🐾 ASLAN — Male, 2 years old, 25 lbs Gold Chihuahua. A young boy with his whole life ahead of him. 🐾 FLORITA — Female, 6 years old, 18 lbs Black Spaniel. A little girl who deserves so much more than this ending. 🐾 LEONIDAS — Male, 26 lbs Black Chihuahua. Age not provided by the shelter. All five are designated rescue only due to behavioral concerns in the shelter. They have also been exposed to parvo and require appropriate precautions. They are kenneled with other dogs and reportedly doing well together. I don’t need five people to adopt five dogs forever. I need people willing to give them a safe place to land while we work on their futures. We can handle the rescue coordination. We just cannot keep taking dogs without somewhere for them to go. 281 people were arrested in one week in Polk County, Florida, and 13 of them told detectives they worked at Disney World 😳 The sheriff’s 7-day undercover sting, “Polk Around and Find Out” had detectives posing online as kids, parents of kids and s*x workers 239 arrests were tied to prostitution, 31 were alleged child predators who thought they were meeting 13 and 14-year-olds, and 11 trafficking victims were identified and offered help Of the 17 theme park workers arrested (13 Disney, 4 Universal), 7 are accused child predators. That includes a former Mickey Mouse performer, a Toy Story Land worker and someone who worked the Slinky Dog ride. A youth football coach and an active-duty Navy sailor were also caught.
