Huge thanks to @ras_nsw , the judges, and the entire RAS support team for such an incredible experience!

I am good at recognizing patterns, was TEMPTED by the trends, and I could make Matcha ice cream in my sleep but competitions like this are where I get to flex the real craft.

I’m here to innovate and make flavours people didn’t know they wanted… until they taste them. Im so glad I stuck with my instincts and was brave enough to enter this flavour.

2019 Event Horizon is inspired by first ever images captured of a Black hole by the 2019 Event horizon telescope…Not trending. But engineered for excellence.

A special thank you to my mentors and coaches and everyone who cheered for me, who came to every new flavour launch in store, and followed my journey with ice cream. I felt you and your support means so much to me.

All my Aloha 🌸

I’m incredibly honored to be featured in the article, “Four Women Who Started Businesses After the Age of 45”. Starting Scoopanova has been an exciting, challenging, and deeply rewarding journey—combining my lifelong love of entrepreneurship with the joy of creating something that brings happiness to others.

As the article shares, my path to founding Scoopanova was far from conventional. I’ve worn many hats throughout my career, but it wasn’t until later in life that I decided to fully embrace my passion for ice cream. Every experience along the way shaped the resilience, creativity, and confidence that helped me take the leap into this new venture.

Scoopanova was born from a simple idea: to craft ice cream that sparks joy and brings people together. Starting later in life allowed me to draw on decades of skills and knowledge to build a business I’m truly passionate about. What began with six flavours and a humble truck has grown into a store, and I’m now looking forward to expanding nationwide—and beyond.

To aspiring entrepreneurs, no matter your age: it’s never too late to pursue your dreams. The experiences you’ve collected over the years are the perfect foundation for your next big adventure.

Thank you to @financialreview and @sallympatten for celebrating the journeys of women entrepreneurs and inspiring others to dream boldly. Here’s to following your passions and chasing audacious goals, one scoop at a time! LFG Ladies!!!

This man worked for NASA, but more importantly, he became my dad when I was seven.

By the time we met, he’d left NASA to chase a different life. I’ve never known such a strong man, someone with the patience of a monk through all the storms I threw at him as a challenging teenager.

It was through his eyes that I fell in love with the stars. Everything that has ever inspired me came from him. He was my champion and my cheerleader through every adventure. And yes, we had a battle cry for ice cream time.🍦💪🏽

Wish he was here to see what comes next.

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads, but especially to the stepdads: your gift to the universe is a reserved seat in heaven and deserves a flavor named after you . ✨❤️✨

Where do my ideas come from?

CURIOSITY

(...or obsession. 🤓)
People think I spend my days eating ice cream and desserts to dream up new flavours.

Reality?

I collect flavour profiles.

Honestly, one of my favourite parts of being an ice cream creator is spending hours wandering international supermarkets, hunting for ingredients I’ve never worked with before.

Spices I’d never even heard of.

Different varieties of cinnamon.
Smoked chillies.
Exotic fruits.
Traditional Mexican ingredients.

Every aisle has me thinking...

“I wonder what that would taste like with dairy?” Not every ingredient belongs in ice cream.

But every ingredient TEACHES me something.

The best flavours aren’t invented. They’re discovered.
I’d love to know: Would you try a spicy ice cream?🌶️🔥 by @scoopanova

I rly LOVE ice cream…but more so the ritual of indulgence. The sweet treat…but not just any sweet..it has to be OMFG good.

✅ Answer: B — You wouldn’t freeze instantly because space is a vacuum, and vacuums are rubbish at transferring heat. What actually happens: the lack of pressure causes the water in your tissues to vapourise, you’d swell up uncomfortably, and you’d pass out within about 15 seconds from oxygen deprivation. NASA actually knows this from a 1965 accident where a technician was briefly exposed to near-vacuum conditions and survived. He said the last thing he felt was the saliva boiling off his tongue.

✅ Answer: A. A light-year is a measure of distance, not time. It is how far light travels in one year, roughly 9.5 trillion kilometres, which is why astronomers use it to describe the huge distances between stars and galaxies. The fascinating part is that when we look at objects light-years away, we are also looking back in time: if a star is 100 light-years away, the light reaching your eyes tonight left that star 100 years ago. by @scoopanova

Just a glimpse but so worth it! Getting outside in the golden light, candy clouds, and big laughs 💕
