I recently had the pleasure of being ask to be a speaker by Trust Mazokera at the DFMI Church Fellowship Awards Evening as the High Sheriff. To be asked to speak alongside the Deputy Lieutenant Riaz Ravat and distinguished and respected business owner @iamchrisdesai was humbling. At a church in an area where I grew up and has been saved and renovated by the community. A beautiful night of awards Thank you

I organised Miss East Midlands! After two years of competing for Miss England, this year I decided to take on a different role by organising a regional heat. I am so proud of how well the contestants were and I want to thank all sponsors, judges, team and audience members who made the evening possible! Now it’s time for me to make my final preparations for Miss World! @moments_by_mee_ 📸🙌

Last month I had the honour of being in a room held with extraordinary care by the Haus of Respect. Thank you to Reshma Desai & @iamchrisdesai for including me to be part of this incredible evening & for their hospitality post event. It brought together speakers who did something profoundly brave. They stood before us and shared trauma that most people carry in silence. Stories of coercive control, domestic abuse, survival, and the long road back to self. What stayed with me was not only the pain they had endured but the strength it takes to speak it aloud. There is a particular kind of courage in turning personal devastation into public education. It shifts the room. It shifts the people in it. It shifts what we choose to tolerate as a society. Awareness is human. It is lived. And it is built by those willing to tell the truth even when their voice trembles. Huge Thank you to Reshma Desai founder @thebangle_boutique, Chris Desai and Mumtaz Patel @mumtaazpatel for curating such a powerful and necessary event @uhumansproject @vayyufoundation @womentumcic To the incredible speakers and male allies who shared their insights and their lived experience Baroness Sandy Verma, Katy Longhurst @theanthonyhutton @grace.richo @zinthiyatrust @melvthomas Learn more https://www.uhumans.org/haus-of-respect

We are honoured to introduce our Welcome Host for the opening of Haus of Respect Chris Desai, Founder & CEO of The VAYYU Foundation®. Chris is the visionary behind The Vayyu Foundation, a global movement rooted in conservation, community empowerment, and social impact, headquartered in Leicester. His work spans across the UK and internationally, driving forward projects that unite people and planet, from ocean and land conservation to tackling inequality and empowering communities often left behind. I could speak endlessly about his accolades, his global recognition, and the impact he continues to make, but what truly defines Chris is who he is as a person. Whether I’m being impartial or not, he is one of the most humble, kind, and grounded individuals I have ever known something I know Mumtaz Patel Patel would wholeheartedly agree with. Chris is the embodiment of true male allyship. Not only within our personal life, but in every space he steps into, consistently uplifting others, especially women, holding space where it hasn’t always felt safe, and championing individuals to step into opportunities they may never have imagined for themselves. He doesn’t just speak about change, he actively creates it. He goes above and beyond to ensure others are seen, heard, and supported, pushing people toward moments that can truly transform their lives. There is, in our opinion, no one better to open Haus of Respect with such integrity, purpose, and heart.

BREAKING SILENCE. BUILDING STRENGTH. THE SHIFT BEGINS. —House of Respect Last night wasn’t just an event… it was a shift. 1 in 4 women. 1 in 7 men. Behind these numbers are fractured homes, silent struggles, and children carrying what was never theirs. We see the impact—unhealthy coping, substance misuse, emotional distress, broken self-worth. Yes, progress has been made. Policies are changing. Roles are evolving. Conversations are opening. But the divide still exists. Women still navigate oppression, inequality, and societal conditioning. And yet… despite it all— the journey has begun. With courage. With truth. With voices that refuse to be silenced. This is more than awareness. This is House of Respect in action. Let’s keep the momentum going. Let’s challenge what’s been normalised. Let’s create change—together. #womentumcic #HouseOfRespect #BreakTheSilence #domesticabuse #SocialChange @uhumansproject Sponsored by @tnlcommunityfund
