Dee Allinson

If you ask me when Sydney is at its most beautiful, I’ll say “all year round”…
but if I really had to choose, November wins my heart every time.

November is when parts of the city turn violet — jacaranda season.
Whole streets soften into shades of lilac and lavender, and the air feels like it’s holding its breath for a moment of magic.

One of the most famous spots is McDougall Street, a gentle sloping road where layers of jacaranda trees create that dreamlike purple tunnel — like in the last photo, captured beautifully by @travel.with.minh

That street inspired this jacaranda cheese terrine, infused with lavender and made to echo the soft, hazy purples of the season.

The tree in my photos is actually just steps from our home — there are plenty around here, but this one feels like an old friend, and I always come back to it.

I used @phillyaus. This recipe is developed from @k.miyu0702 and styled with inspiration from @bellbell.vavi — do visit their incredible pages for more beauty.
