Interview with the Vampire: 50th Anniversary Celebration. ⚰️

The contemporary gothic novel, #InterviewwiththeVampire, was published on May 5, 1976. Fifty years later, and with thousands of fans around the world, Anne Rice’s legacy lives on; she transformed the vampire narrative and created a sanctuary within her words for the "weirdos." Today, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the book that started it all.

I am a reader of the books, and I think what Rolin Jones is doing is a real shame. I find it enormously arrogant of him to think he can 'improve' the story. We are losing the chance to see a more faithful adaptation of the work just so a wealthy white man, full of ego, can play revolutionary. He is just acting like a spoiled brat, hiding behind tedious, often unnecessary scenes.

Honored to be a hardcore Vampire Chronicles fan reading since 2011 my fascination began in 2002 when I saw Interview with the Vampire 1994 film and then later got myself a copy on vhs and dvd in 2010 after I found out it was based on a series of novels studying the author herself and read The Vampire Lestat I was hooked,I remember asking Anne Rice on her Facebook site saying something like:How come with all of this fantastic source material like The Queen of Damned there's so much in each chapter especially the standalone Character books like Lestat,Armand and Marius ect I wasn't expecting a response so I damn near fainted when Anne herself had replied to me and all the while I was thinking don't sound like a fanatic or rude to the point of by the time I finished I was extremely nervous and got a very kind and insightful response then I found out she'd actually just finished Prince Lestat 2013 I'd thought it was finished back in 2002 with Blood Canticle and never thought she'd write another one lmao was I surprised and now it's still going on in a great TV series can't wait to see this version of The Vampire Lestat and what eventually happens after also kudos for bringing back his maker Magnus only younger and alive in the present,I wonder if the vampire doctor's Seth and Fareed is going to happen as well as Marius De Romanus,Mael and Avicus as well as a list of personal favourites 💯
