For Satyarthi Fellow @souamandacosta, the visit to the Banjara Education Centre became a powerful reminder of the importance of listening, connection and staying open to learning.
“We need to be very humble to take out all of our stereotypes and bias and just listen to the community,” she reflected.
At the school, the children’s energy left her inspired — from trying to speak English to teaching the Fellows how to write in Hindi and communicate. A simple game brought everyone together, reminding Amanda that when we are close to nature and children, “we come back to our inner child.”
What stayed with her was a deeper sense of responsibility: “It’s just one planet. Even though we are from different countries, we need to stay connected, we need to stay together and we can transform the world.”
A day of listening, learning and rediscovering the power of connection.
