Why is the US sanctioning Sudan’s government in the middle of an active genocide facilitated by its UAE client state? To protect human rights, of course.
The justification is that the Sudanese military allegedly used chemical weapons in 2024 during an offensive against the RSF militia. The US offered no evidence, no intelligence, and no investigation. Just a claim based on “classified intelligence.”
What’s not classified is decades of US chemical weapons terror across the world, spanning generations and touching each and every continent.

I don’t think this State Dept does anything in good faith but you cannot sit here and omit that the Sudanese military is just as culpable and has been terrorizing resistance communities in the west and the south for decades. They don’t give a shit about their civilians either. Don’t let the outside world think the victim is SAF just because they aren’t privy to Sudanese domestic politics.
